Breathing problems from ecigs?

Hullo everybody, just joined POTV and wanted to ask advice or any relevant info, thank you. Been a heavy smoker of tobacco all of 37 years and took up ecigs the last 7 days. Well after 7 days of fairly heavy smoking of ecigs I started experiencing a feeling of my lungs and chest being blocked and it was a struggle to breathe easily. My airways and breathing felt restricted. From 37 years of tobacco smoking I have never had this, and so sadly I had to stop on the ecigs and return to tobacco smoking. I was using Nicolite, Skycig, and Ten Motives. I am a total newbie to this. I have been told that those 3 ecig types are higher in PG then in VG and this may be the problem? I have looked at more upgrade tank and mod type vaper systems where you add eliquids but know nothing of which is best for starter as there are thousands to choose from, a bit baffling? I did order a (Forget exact name) Ego mega Dual cartomizor Kit (Think it is the right name?) and received it today with 4 eliquids - from SMOKSHOP in UK. No idea how to use it. Would this type of vapour system have less adverse reactions than the ecigs before? Or was it simply that I was vaping about 4 cartridges a day that caused it? (too much?) Was before on about 45-50 tobacco cigs a day so yes a heavy smoker!! But really would like to quit tobacco, but not keen on the above described breathing problem. Never had this reaction on tobacco ever, in past. What would be the best ecig or vaper system to use for me? Or what am I doing wrong? Would really appreciate some advice as keen on stopping tobacco, but haven't yet!!! Thank you very much in advance. Have a good night. Cheers!!!

Hi ADAM, when I first switched over from smoking I got very tight chest and lungs but only on certain brands of liquids. Since then I have used more PG in other brands and never had a problem as well as less PG so it is not always JUST the PG that can be the cause. Sure, there are people who are intolerant towards PG but I think that ruling out all PG based liquids would be a mistake when really you could just get a small bottle of PG and a small bottle of PG with no nicotine in and try to vape those in isolation for a couple of days to see if you react.

Afternoon all, Just a quick update. I'm now down to 4-5 cigarettes or pipes (depending on time available and mood) per day, nothing else! I have the 3 bottles of 100% VG in my home, but haven't tried it yet. Apart from the 4-5 cigs/pipes a day, I haven't gone back to vaping right yet, or so far, as I find it hard to put down once I start and then I over-vape. And I'm not too keen on getting the Breathlessness attacks all over again. Right now I do not know what I'll be doing (vaping wise) in the next few weeks. Who does anyway!!!....lol. Anyway hope you're all well, happy and most importantly - Looking after the health (you only have one!!!) So speak later soon.....have a great day!!!

Yes, so now it's dealing daily (hourly) with the old, true and trusted friend "cold Turkey" Again. So you can now bring out the violins..!!!:stop: Until the next time...

You will be fine ADAM, just go nice and steady and take your time. As said earlier, it doesn't matter if you do it in the next few weeks, months or year.... Slowly slowly :)

The problem was TeriAnn once I picked up the vaper I would vape nearly off and on the whole day, and I was basically way over doing it, if there was a way to put it down for a few hours, a good few hours, and then carry on later, I wouldn't have become out of breath. Which is what I'll have to do if and when I take up the vaper later on ( put it down for a good few hours) and not over do it, slow down as you say. Thanks again, Cheers...:whiteflag:

I see what you are saying there ADAM, I wonder if maybe having a cpl of tanks. 1 with a higher strength and 1 with a lower dose, maybe even 0 nicotine. Use the one when you want the nicotine and the other with 0 in for when you just a vape just because you can lol... Don't know if that's workable or not, maybe one of the other more experienced guys can help out on that.

I had/have a few different nicotine dose tanks already TeriAnn and still over vaped or chain vaped daily. Think it was just that I was such a heavy cigarette and pipe smoker before. Wouldn't really have made any difference with different set-ups, I just over vaped. First I need to bring down my nocotine intake and get used to it which i'm doing now. Maybe later then I can phase in vaping again......and replace the tobacco....who knows!!!

Well I can really sympathise with you tonight. I feel like I have an elephant sat on my chest. Even using my inhaler's isn't really helping :( So now more vaping for me tonight
