Bad plastic taste maybe some form of primer on the coil which should go after a while. If its truly a burnt taste then its a wicking issue. In other words the juice hasn't fed the heating coil before firing. I always let mine soak for a while before Vaping any of these clearomisers. Personally I also find that the bigger the tank capacity the harder the wick has to work to feed to juice to the coil at the top.
What he said. I always prime my wick first use with some PG e liquid as it's light. Eden is quite VG heavy, so after the PG prime I let the tank stand, upright, for at least 5 minutes before I use it (I have one Mini Nova that is dedicated to Eden). I then fire up at a low voltage and continue at low voltage until I get a decent flow of vapour (which proves there's a capillary action up the wick). I have never had any problems - the wicks and coils seem to last forever. I believe there are conterfeit Vivi Novas on sale - I always buy Vision Vivi Novas from Liberty Flights - I trust them. Having said that my latest Vivi Nova came from www.esmoke.co.uk as part of their Vamo deal and was kosher.
