I reckon that TPD is a bigger threat to us than wherever this story ends up.
Can't see the Chinese banning a money earning business.
They're a market oriented economy.
If there's a market the Chinese want to corner it as a rule.

Plus even if they do stop it, the manufacturers will just move elsewhere. There may be a price jump and a period when it is hard to get hold of hardware but it would settle out again.
