Lads I bought NI 80 wire. It says 1.50-2.00… why would someone change the thickness of the wire and wen building the coil is 6 turns the normal ?

Dunno about the first, but the second would be dependent on what wire you are building. But generally 4-6 wraps

Does it have an awg number? That usually denotes the thickness. I usually do 6 or 7 wraps of 27awg for MTL.
Edit. Sorry you're talking about Clapton wire. Same should apply though as you go by the thickness of the central wire.

It says 30ga+38ga … don’t know wat this means

Need a picture of the 1.50-2.00 thing on the wire spool and we should be able to tell you what it means.

And I would say 5 to 6 wraps as well, so your coil is covering the space between the terminals

Ok, as far as wraps go, its always a debate
This is how ive seen to count a coil

But if u will notice when u look at in from one side it only has 5 wraps or 6 wraps from the other side, so it might be listed as a 6 wrap coil, a 5/6 coil, or a 5.5 coil, or a 5 wrap coil as on top
As depictected here caling them 6 wrap coils.

Technically for it to be a true 6 wrap or 4 wrap coil the legs have to point in opposite directions.
Steam crave will let u put in half wrap coil counts tho i believe, but it makes only a slight difference

30ga is the thickness of the the core wire and 38ga is the outer wrap thickness I think 1.50 -2.00 will be the ohms

try 5 wraps with a 2mm drill bit and see how you get on. should be very roughly about 1Ω. you’d be best to space the wraps out slightly so you don’t have to do that mad “strumming” carry on people get up to.

I bought a mini tool coil making kit il attempt my first one at weekend . Just for the crack I put new cotton in last nite to see how I got on. Seems ok , good vapour but had to turn the watts down to 12
