No discussion needed:

1. He used the wrong charger.

2. He's a knob.

jasox, it is also an idea! "made in china"... could explain much!

You know aswell as I do that most electronics are made in Asia today
However a lot of the bootlegged stuff made there are inferior quality and dangerous to use and those products are sold in every small cornershop.

I've said this before, would this brainless excuse for a barman like to plug his ipad into a car battery charger regularly? When his ipad explodes is he going to complain to Apple that it doesn't work? Would we all prefer it if he put his fucking dead brain on charge by grabbing hold of a kettle lead and being stood in the bath?

It's all to do with maths and averages. There are X amount of twats. The more popular a passtime becomes the higher the % of twats that will be contained within that passtime.

Here's some more math there is 5 twats in a designated area, I have 6 shotgun shells. What % do I have of leeway?

Think you are going to have to shoot me.
I have been using ipad, iphone and Samsung mains to usb chargers for over 6 months. They all put out a regulated 5v +/- 0.25v at amps between 1.2 and 2.1 why is it wrong to use them? If you are all saying the charger is too powerful why is it that I can safely plug my 30 watt bedside lamp into the same socket as my 3000 watt kettle without burning my house down?

Hi maxcat,

It's all down to the power regulator, a plug socket will give 240v of electric out but the regulator will limit it, an ipad charger won't put 240v into the ipad because it limits this to a 5v input, hence why my iPhone plug won't charge my ipad when in use, only when it's off.

Devices that require higher or lower power have a regulator to monitor this so plugging a lower power device into a high power charger will seriously overcharge the device as mentioned by the manufacturers.
