EVOD coil help please

Thanks biggsy68. Now where & what type of wick in terms of material & thickness should I get for the EVOD ?

I use .2 Kanthal wire and 2mm Ekowool. As the Ekowool is woven and tube like I put one of those pins with a coloured round top down the middle and wrap the coils round the wick. Been doing it for nearly a year on my eVod and no real problems. It may leak a little sometimes but I still use it everyday without problems. I don't use a flavour wick either. I tend not to use liquid that's heavy in pg as it tends to be thinner and would leak more.

I'm using 2mm silica wick and I bought res/low res wires from stealth vape, pack of 50 costs £3. So with the wick making a new coil comes out at about 20p

I'd you're up for rebuilding the coils yourselves try wrapping them around both the bottom and the flavour wicks. You need two wicks in there at least to avoid flooding /leaking. Why not make them both live?

I purchased 2 EVOD's from my local bricks n mortar last weekend, told they were genuine, they were in the same display case as all the shiny Kangertech stuff, but they did not come boxed.. plus 2 spare coils..

Both of them are complete shite.. with the short chimney coils or the long replacements my 60/40 vg/pg liquid pisses out the bottom all over the battery, gurgles like mad & getting gobs fulls of juice..

Tried messing about with them & no better wasted so much juice its untrue.. I think they are getting them back tomorrow..

Did you try to re-coil them yourself? That may have helped.

I bought an Evod off Vape Escape last year and it's not a Kanger one, no Kanger name or the letter "K" on it and it works fine. It's never leaked or gurgled and is a great little clearomiser. I've got a Kanger T3 (genuine one) and iclear 16 and they both tend to leak, the T3 being the worst.

Not tried recoiling myself yet, gotta order some wick & kanthal, then I will have a go with all my atty's, not had a single problem with my CE5's or my protank3, just these, I will have a word with the local bricks and mortar tomorrow, and see what they say/do about it..

Got my mini protank 2 today & sad to say it's unusable. Came boxed from myepack with instructions & 2 coils plus some sort of beauty ring ?
It came fully assembled but no coil. No problem I'll just screw one of the 2 it came with.

I twist & twist but it never tightens up. I try the other coil in the box. Same thing. I have some spare coils for the EVOD that also fit the protank. Yes you've guessed they don't tighten either

So unusable & unimpressed to say the least.

Thanks Maxcat. I feel such a dope. RTFM. Really pleased that I don't have to return it. Not tried it out yet as have a couple of evods on the go & it was bought for an alleged tank cracking juice that I haven't opened as yet. The design is so similar to the EVOD that it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking the coil screws into the stainless steel bit. That's my excuse & I'm sticking to it !

premade wicks and coils are hit and miss, i rebuild my gf's evods buying some wick and wire will save your life, a bit fiddly but no too hard to master. the bit of wick above the coil that sits on top is a must, stops the gurggling.
Sometime certain type of juice flavours will cause the coils to gunk up, i find dark flavours like chocolate etc will gunk coils up much quicker
