What's new

Given the risk of legislation and other actions imposed in the future months / years.

Would you be happy to pay the same as a pack of fags for your eJuice equivalent?

My tuppence worth ... :strawberry: Some have used the period of no nic restrictions to lower their nic levels (very nice for them) ... if restrictions come into place new users won't have that option. I wonder how many of us would be vapers if it had been restricted to 4mg when we started? :strawberry:

Good point Szaxe and my choice of lowering Nic will not stop me doing all I can with all the campaigns and petitions to fight this draconian attempt to take away the product availability of a NRT that we all know works

Ecigs will just become another form of failed NRTs...

Exactly that's what some of the answers to ppl have been who have written to their MEP's. They told them it will still be available but as a medicinal product instead of an unregulated one (and we will make the tobacco and Pharma companies richer, though they never actually said that), they are true in that sense ecigs will still be available, but going back to an 808-D1 battery with 2/3 hours life at nearly the cost of a pack of fags or just being able to get disposable batteries. Give me my Provari any day.
So people who try and give up the fags will have an avenue but won't be able to move onto bigger and better devices like we have unless they can manage a 30ml bottle with just 2mg total in it instead of the usual 600mg for most, only a drop of 598 mg :12:

The joy of this is... They can not ban the atomisers, the cartos, the tanks, none of it. They would have to ban every single kind of heating element available in the EU, the same goes with the batteries.

There are ways around all of it without breaking any laws.

The hardest part will be the nicotine base, but I fully believe (hopes raised!) that part of the directive will be nixed.

People are still under the impression that the nicotine level will be 4mg!! it wont, it is only 2mg, and that is the highest strength anyone will be allowed to buy in a bottle, so 2mg in a 50ml bottle is worse than useless, they say a max strength of 4mg, but you will only ever be able to reach 4mg is you have a bottle or cartridge holding 0.5 ml or less. 0.5ml x 4mg = 2mg. a 5ml bottle will not hold 20mg of nicotine (5ml x 4mg = 20) it can only have 2mg max so 5ml will have 0.4mg nicotine per ml, so and get this a 50 ml bottle will have 0.04 mg/ml wont that just knock your socks off.
So no point in anyone saying 4mg is the new limit it is 2mg max :12:

Actually no one yet knows the result ........ the point wasn't about the amount but the effect that any restriction would have on new users :strawberry:

.

You are spot on and they know this, they don't care if we buy tanks eVics or Strawberry Lemonade from Highbrows as long as we are not using nicotine, they want that market for the big boys, they also know 99% of current vapers wont want any part of a zero nicotone industry. I just wonder if there will be a market for ppl who only vape zero mg.
We have to hope that some good comes out of all the lobbying we have been doing, but I really doubt it :banghead:

They do know it came out in the directive

(On 19 December 2012 the European Commission published a proposal for the revision of the Tobacco Products Directive. In this document the first time the e-cigarette, was treated as a nicotine-containing product (short: NCP). They want to standardise a limit of 2 milligrams per consumption unit as well as a limitation of the absolute concentration of nicotine to 4 milligrams per millilitre. All products beyond this would have to be approved as a pharmaceutical product.)

Even if it goes medical... how much of a market is there where the government will be footing the bill for most of the prescribed NRT's? In a few years time they will devise that they failed miserably.

I have a hard time thinking that Big T will allow for this limitation on nicotine as well because it will effect the massive amount of money they have poured into marketing ecigs this past year.

I think big T will shockingly help us more than hurt us.
