Have your say - Creating a smokefree generation

aye it’s no going to happen anyway. either @Rickster ’s world war three point, or starmer win the election next year and ban everything :)

This 'consultation' doesn't finish until 6th Dec. ... I thought the disposable ban was 'likely to happen within weeks' according to the headlines. They haven't even decided to do it at all yet.

I read all the comments on here which all have view points I would say pro vaping however the form is there to express that opinion no mp will read this forum but if you have a voice then use it if you can’t be bothered then don’t moan when they do ban flavours when they only have closed systems when nic goes on prescription.

I may sound argumentative but this isn’t the tpd there is a real good threat that vaping will be banned in some way or shape.

I don’t really care what people write as long as it fights our corner

Totally agree with this.

You can bet the anti vaping lobby will be all over this so we need to get our point across too. The stuff that has already been announced about smoking, the gov aren't going to change their mind on but when it comes to vaping they are clearly undecided or they wouldn't be doing this. Now is the time while they are in listening mode to get our points across while we have this opportunity to try and influence things.

In fact it might also be possible to complete it more than once using different devices or browsers so if anyone thinks of any new points or add more voices on our side it might be worth thinking about.

I had an interesting conversation over this, the goverment wont ban when "stoptober" is in full swing it would be a pr disaster plus the clinics are giving smokers vape devices as well as patches those clinics have contracts that have to be honored with the vape suppliers if you ban the thing they are giving out the clinic still has the bill add that up over the country and you have a big bill

it is up to members on here to say how they feel but to be brutely it's the same area as voting people bitch about the Tories or Labour etc but some people never vote so that being said if you don't vote how can you moan about whos in charge it's been said many times even if you write "all wankers " on your ballot paper you are making a stand that is a voice "If you don't use the voice you have no choice" that was said to me when I said to an older family member I couldn't be arsed to vote. that family member watched his friends die around him at Dunkirk his view was they fought a war so we would remain free and I couldn't be bothered to put a cross in a box.

The above excerpt has no mention of vaping in general, it only mentions issues surrounding vaping in minors, but I`ve noticed an increased level of paranoia about lately. I haven`t seen or read one UK specific report, article of any authority which mentions any intent to ban all forms of vaping.
In May I published a reply from my MP (POTV- Mass Discussion), and the govt position has not changed, currently there are no plans to ban vaping.

All the parties are in pre-election mode and trying to talk tough because of the General Election some time next year.
Historically many Labour politicians hate vaping, been that way since 2010. Wouldn't surprise me if they tried to go down the prescription route, there are quite a few fans of the Australian vape model within the labour parliamentary group.

At best labour want to regulate vaping very hard, making it expensive and as unattractive as possible. For the sake of the children they will tell you, children who will end up smoking instead.

It's what you expect from most politicians. I mean who cares if it is already illegal to sell vapes to those under 18 and those doing so are predominantly the likes of corner shops and a generation of children aren't addicted to nicotine. It's just easier to come out with this sort of rhetoric.

Unfortunately as I said a lot of vape companies and by extension shops haven't helped their selves by not seeing the signs and changing their packaging which would've helped as these people would have less to fuel their closed minded policies.
