How many duds is reasonable (coils)

Out of 5 , I'd say 1... 2 is pushing it!?
Just a little gripe. I had a pack of 5 aspire pockex's, all were duds. The seller ebay ( I know play with fire...) was pretty pants at customer service " you should of let us know at the first dud coil"
This didn't make much sense as you probably experienced, when you get a dud, you move on to the next, and the next .. !!

Anyhow just wondered what your limits are before you say contact customer service etc. Or is it just one of those things , ya win some ya lose some!

Personally, 1 in 5 (20%) is too many. Far too many.

Maybe 1 coil in every 5 packs (4%), maybe.

I use aspire bvc coils in a spryte (that was my wife's) and - swiftly touching wood - we've not had a single doa coil in something like 10-15 packs.

Always check for authenticity - but they're a simple item, there's no reason for instant failure (except user error).

I really don't see any as acceptable.. maybe a 1-2% rate ... But we got so used with smok coils and other fake stuff that we are starting to accept a dead one in 5 ? Strangely i never had issues with smok coils while I used smok tanks and most of the stuff was from ebay ..

Maybe the knock-off smok coils are better quality than the originals

Sorry shouldve explained - by dud I meant - quick burnout. I used the same juice same device same tank - in this case regarding the Freemax Mesh Coils - always been 5 days + , one of them just burnout mega quick within a days use.
Primed as usual, much longer than guidlines - I just prime and leave them in the tank and come back later, and also broken in ( starting at 15w and working up) .

My main gripe is that this particular pack was from a reputable and POTV acclaimed retailer ( never had any problems before, excellent otherwise) - but one querying ( just a query lol not demanding a refund or replacement) - I got a bit of a cr*ppy response. My query was along the lines of 1 of the 5 I can deal with being dud, but if there's any more what is the policy etc. 40% dud is pants!
1. The usual clause of DOA report within 24hrs of reciept ( doesn't work for coils as in my case, first lastes a week, second burns out in a day)... Hmmmm.
2. "to be honest using 2 coils in that space of time wouldn’t be particularly unusual" - looks like they might've not bothered to read my concern at all.

Did you check the authenticity on the box? I’ve always found Aspire coils to be fairly good.

I don't reckon the retailer ( very popular on here especially for hardware sales would sell fake goods. Thanks though I've just checked and they're legit.
I'll put it down to just a bad one - I've had 5 in this pack and 2 with the tank so the dud % is going down and i hope it continues to do so!!!

You opened with the only details being a complaint about a pack of pockex coils, but now they're freemax?

Hi mate, not sure which ones exactly you have. But I had a Freemax Fireluke Meshtank and had several packets of them in the singles, .15 ohm 40-90w and I personally found the quality of them to be appalling! They died early all the time, couple of days the flavour would drop off by like 70% and by day 4 to 5 dead. When I mentioned it here my use of sweetener was blamed. But using the same mixes these days with Naboo, Plex, Advken, I get on average 9 to 10 days. And I cant recall a dud amongst them, all very consistent in quality.
