If you often get sore throat or lungs - READ THIS

And let's not forget that nicotine can actually be a very useful drug:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1859921/

The dose of a chemical is a key factor. It can make the difference between being a useful drug and a dangerous poison. Ibuprofen for example. I wouldn't fancy taking 500 caplets in one sitting.

That;s absolutely true. It's all a matter of knowing the right proportions.

Even water will kill you if you don't drink enough or drink so much that you drown.

I can't imagine there are many of you who haven't had morphine as a pain kiler in the past. The first time morphine was ever administered by a doctor was in 1822 but he used it to murder one of his patients. What you get in hospital is diluted down to the correct safe level to kill the pain without killing the patient.

Understanding what is a safe level for vaping is part of what being a responsible vaper should be about so you know how get the best from it while avoiding any ill effects.

As “responsible vapers” most of us oppose the irresponsible sale of disposable vapes, we promote good battery safety in our mods and we oppose the use of dangerous and illicit substances in our tanks.

So why would we, as responsible vapers, promote such a lax attitude to understanding what is safe to use when it comes to nicotine?

I think that’s madness and it’ll almost certainly come back and bite us severely.

Away from vaping, how many cases has any of you ever heard of about someone suffering a bad allergic reaction to propylene glycol? I've never heard of one.

You are discussing vaping on a vaping forum, where an adverse reaction to PG has been reported by some individuals, and reducing PG content of e-liquid has resolved the problem. I don't understand why you feel that not hearing about PG problems outside vaping is relevant as you are specifically discussing vaping, or why you would repeatedly refer to allergic reactions/irritation of the throat from inhaling PG in vaping being a myth when you clearly know it is an issue for some people.

I'm out on this as it is going nowhere, however, I'm glad cutting down on nic worked for you.

Mods here, delete my reply if wrong.
My reply....
Id be in a bath full of it 100% nic and live?.
You Are A Moron....
100mg is not the same as 100% ...

18mg is 1.8
72mg is 7.2%
100mg is 10%

its not where near pure nic

The delusion could be someone believing that because Nicotine is a poison (which it is) then PG can't be an irritant.

Some people do have an adverse reaction to PG in higher concentrations. Reducing the amount of nic does nothing for these people, but reducing the amount of PG (or vaping 100% VG) does.

You're not thinking this through.
conversely .. some people have a reaction with too high VG

myself included

Absolutely.

I have severe problems with Freebase in typical MTL dilutions (even 6mg can give me a sore throat if I vape it for more than an hour), but can happily vape 20mg Freebase without any problems.

And there are several members on here that can happily vape higher concentrations of Freebase nicotine but have problems with Nic Salts.

I don't see anyone on here promoting a lax attitude to nicotine levels. There are laws here and elsewhere that restrict the level of nicotine used in e-cigs, aka it is illegal to sell e-liquids and e-cigs that contain nicotine above 20mg in the UK.

Barring the personal experiences it`s all conjecture without the results of long term studies.

This point does need to be answered.

If people are constantly bombarded with the thought that all their problems are caused by PG allergy then, of cause, that’s what they’re going to believe. However, self diagnosis does not equal proof. What you don’t have is a confirmed medical diagnoses that they’ve identified the correct cause. If you bombard people enough you can make them believe the earth is flat and was created in 6 days and that evolution is just a big lie.

What we have got is scientific evidence that identifies nicotine as a deadly poison and that PG is safe to put in foods and lots of other products.

As a vaper I want to be able to carry on vaping nicotine and don’t want it to be banned. Trying to divert all the blame onto PG and trying to play down and avoid any criticism against nicotine is irresponsible and I’ve witnessed that happening far too often on this forum.

It’s up to vapers like us to lead the way and show people how to vape safely and sensibly to prevent them experiencing any harmful effects. Ignoring the truth and pushing fake myths is the wrong way to go about it.
