Coils look good but that wicking looks a bit laborious might be one for a rainy day.

26/32awg clapton 6 wraps gives 0.44 ohms on a velocity deck and fits most of them nicely.

If I'm getting your original post right, it sounds like you could pre-bend the coil 'posts' so you're not flexing the coil when you install it. Get a pair of pliers and bend the posts like this \ / then bend the ends of those bent posts straigh like this | |.

Just shape your coil a little better than this to fit any coil to your velocity without it stretching

Will have to give this another try seems common sense but I find it buggering hard to get neat symmetrical bends.

The spaced ss has worked well though.

I'm liking the steel. Plenty of coil per ohms. Ramps up quickly too. Well done bud.
