My first RTA.

Hey all!

I want to start building my own coils (and liquid at a later date). I've been doing abit of research on what tank to buy and the main three that keep coming up and recommended are: (in no particular order)

1) Digiflavor Pharaoh
2) GeekVape Zeus
3) Vandy Vape Kylin

So I'm looking for PoTV members suggestions on the above or others

Also is there anything else in particular I'll need?

My current mod the tank will be used with is a Wismec Reuleaux RX Gen3 Dual.

I'd maybe look at the Pharaoh Mini rather than the Pharaoh, it's a lot smaller, more forgiving & tastier vape in my opinion

The Kylin Mini is alright, I prefer the Ammit over it so maybe give that one a look too

I've never tried a Zeus, the way it wicks looks a bit weird to me

Also is there anything else in particular I'll need?

For rebuilds? If this is totally new to you you'll need wire or prebuilt coils, cotton & few tools to make & fit the coil. Have a look on Youtube, there are loads of tutorials for building & wicking so you'll get an idea of what you need then feel free to ask any more questions here

I have a kylin. It's the dual coil one and it's super airy so if you like big clouds at high watts you're sorted with one of those. Flavour's not too bad as well.

There are others though so have a hunt around on here for recommendations. Sometimes the popular tanks aren't the ones that suit you best.

The Kylin's a great tank when you get it right, but there's no way I'd recommend it as a first RTA. It could put you off rebuildables for life.

For a gentle introduction, I'd go for the Mage V2. It's simple to work with, and mine hasn't leaked a drop or even wept in 6 months.

I would prob suggest a single coil tank for your first rta. Maybe a kylin mini?

Just built my first RTA tonight - Kylin also. Been using SMOK Prince TV before, but burning thru coils at one every other day (maybe 1000 puffs @ 70w). Tried it last night and totally knacked it, so did my research tonight and took my time. No leaks, and the FLAVOUR. Different league - and I think i went a tad light on the cotton. Got the 6ml tank coming tomorrow.

I would second the Pharaoh mini. I have 4 of them and they are both forgiving, dead easy to build and wick and don’t leak, well very minor weeping when due a re-wick. The Pharaoh wicks 80VG Eliquid without difficulty as an added bonus

I have the Zeus. It was my first Sub-ohm RTA. Other than my wicking being a bit & miss in the beginning I’ve never had a problem with it. Single coil so better battery life, leakproof which was an important factor for me & good flavour. Overall I think it’s a great tank but there is a lot of choice these days.

Sorry I should of stated better but the Pharaoh and the Kylin I was talking about where the mini versions (sorry!).

Also my brother in law suggested going straight to Squonking instead of using a RTA tank on my RX Gen3 Dual. He recommended "Wisemec Luxotic" Or "Vandy Vape Simple EX". Is this a better route to go down? or should I stick to RTA? I did try his Squonk and really enjoyed it.
