efest are just fine. it sounds like the protection strip which is extrernal and metal is actually creating a continuous circuit with the nem casing causing it to fire.

No, don't remove the protection board from the battery itself! That battery is not insulated properly and thats why its firing even when the switch is off.

You can get heat shrink tubing for insulating batteries, have a look on ebay.

I will do. As the guy running it has just started to use these batteries I believe I was one of the first to get one as he offered me it as an upgrade from a trust fire due to me waiting for my order as the charger was out of stock.
