Just read all the terms of use etc .. it's not really anything like Ebay and Amazon is it? ... I think that's more than a bit misleading saying that, why the fuck is vaping filled with a bunch of shady ass characters? .... it's really pissing me off lately.

How would one be less likely to be scammed on ohmzone than by buying something from a facebook group or from the classifieds on here? It’s not made very clear other than you saying that payments go through paypal. So do most transactions in the classifieds here, for example.

A lot of people are caught out with the whole paypal friends and family thing or by people refusing to accept anything but bank transfer, both of which aren't covered by any kind of buyer protection. If you are on any of the buy, sell & trade groups on Facebook I'm sure you will see people complaining about being scammed this way on a daily basis. OhmZone provides a moderated platform that forces both buyers and sellers to use PayPal goods & services, that way both the buyer and seller are covered by PayPals protection.

Anything where money can be made will attract Shady ass characters I am afraid.
One of lifes annoying rules. Like Concert ticket touts who bulk buy and sell on Ebay to inflate the price.

I don't think you guys are getting the point. This has been set up to stop people being scammed every single day through private sales on Facebook groups etc. If I'm an "arsehole" for trying to help the vaping community then I am proud to be an "arsehole"

im struggling to understand the business model here, if you guys are providing a service where people are forced to use the paypal goods and services what do you guys get out of it? are you charging a % of the sale ?

i didnt say you were an arsehole i am saying there seems to be alot of scamming going on out there just now and understandably people are extremely cautious with things so when something like this comes along they want to know the ins and outs of it, i was saying the scammers are arseholes, and if i had a business that i was trying get off the ground i would be happy to answer all questions and not post comments like "how are we breaking eu regs exactly ?" and i would try and explain that i had looked into this and give a reasonable explanation to show i knew what i was talking about,

We charge a 9% commission, just like eBay.

I was asking as all EU compliant cookies etc are provided by the platform OhmZone is built on so I was wondering if they had missed something. If you mean in terms of TPD then we are breaking no regulations are private sales are immune, just like how this forum and facebook groups can allow people to buy and sell on them.

Various schemes have been suggested before and have met with pretty universal condemnation from the members here @Robert Docherty.
We operate our own Classified Sales Section here which is accessible once you have made your Post Count up to in excess of 100 Posts. The reasons that this was put in place was to combat the problems that you have already high lighted when speaking about various fb groups. Since the implementation of this rule, problems which were legion have all but disappeared. This works well for all of us, whether Buying, Selling, Trading, or simply offering items as Giveaways. By the time a member has amassed a sensible post count, we all have a pretty good idea about them and are better placed to make our own judgement.
We also operate our own version of a Feedback System which further helps with decisions about with whom you may be potentially dealing.
Unlike some other facilities, our Classified Sections are constantly monitored and any errors or slightly questionable listings are dealt with pretty rapidly.

In short, we are a very successful forum, we have nothing but our members best interests at heart, so you'll understand when someone comes along and makes suggestions such as your's that we might get slightly nervous about motives etc?
Sorry if that seems harsh, but that's how we roll.

OK, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for a moment.... you are right I'm not getting the point.

I don't understand what you are offering other than the sound advice that people should be using Paypal goods and services for sales transactions? (well like duh)


....what is to stop someone contacting a seller about an item and that seller telling them they want paid another way?

... and what benefit to me is there to sell something there?

.. and how does the platform stop people being scammed? (and don't say paypal, you are not paypal)
