OhmZone - Vape gear marketplace

I guess the 9% middleman fee might put peeps off? For me it depends upon what price the second hand item sells for.
If it's cheap and in good order happy days.

I get that and think that this forum is great and full of useful information. I know that you have a similar thing put in place and I think that's awesome but not every vaper in the UK is on this forum, think about your new vapers who are going on facebook to get a cheap starter kit or maybe someone who isnt very good with computers goes on to facebook to try and get a bargain on some hardware. Chances are those types of people wont have heard about this forum and the good work that you guys do. We're trying to stop these kinds of people from being defrauded through the facebook groups.
Let's face it, if you're on any of those groups you hear about someone being defrauded every single day
if new vapours havent heard of this forum how are they expected to know about OhmZone ?

Back in the Bad Old Days, before we made sweeping changes, we became extremely adept at involving the Police and other agencies. There was a glorious episode where one Ex Member decided that he'd try and scam as many people as he could on here. I would have loved to have been a Fly on the Wall when the Police descended upon his workplace and removed him so that they could continue with their enquiries whilst he was enjoying their custody suite. He would be foolish to try that again, not only did he get fined a considerable amount and had to make financial reparation to ALL his victims. but also lost his job and had a further problem with his relationship and housing thereafter.

There were plenty more.............. The time and ingenuity required to get these affairs sorted was enormous, but in "most" cases, we succeeded. Again........ There is absolutely NO responsibility from POTV in these transactions, but being the kind of people we are, we did get involved and did our best for the scammed members as NO ONE likes anything like this.

Best of luck with the site @Robert Docherty but it isn't something I personally would use.

This site has an A+ Classified section that has never let me down once, there are also several very trustworthy FB groups (Most of which @Rob mentioned) that I'm happy to use, all whilst avoiding any % fees. For the record I never use EBay for vaping items.

I'm sure there are a section of people who will use your site and be very happy with the service, heck I may even keep an eye on it to see if any bargains pop up, but I certainly won't sell there.

Nigeria, and I have an Uncle who is a Prince. He has a problem getting his inheritance released, he may have emailed you? :)

I'm also from Scotland, Greenock specifically. Where are you guys from?
youll be the same Robert Docherty who runs https://cloud-revolution.co.uk/ i had an email conversation a couple of months back about your juices and stuff, i also emailed you regarding an issue my brother in law had with some juices he bought from you guys, Have you since moved on from Cloud Revolution or are you running both businesses now ?

So if the scamming is happening on FB why are you here. Should you be on FB advertising your site. The people who use this site enjoy being here so are highly unlikely to scam anyone. And we are a pretty alert bunch and look out for each other.

Hi Robert

I'm afraid you're going to get a slightly frosty reception because :

a. we've had a few bad experiences with a couple of businesses recently
b. your first post on our community was plugging your own site
c. we have our own successful classified sales section

We've no problem with having vendors on here, but you do need to get vendor status from the admins and it helps just to hang out and chat as well - don't just push your product. Honestly we're a friendly bunch, stick around and make a few friends.
Apologies I didn't know about the vendor situation. We are genuinely trying to help people out, as I said if the commission we make is just enough to cover the site fees then I am happy. I think it's important for the vaping community to stick together. For example you mentioned me plugging my site, I wont mention my companies name or website so that this doesnt look like a plug, we recently raised a lot of money for someone in Ireland who spends every second of the day and every penny that he has caring for people with mental health problems. We heard he was in a bit of a sticky financial situation and because he was part of our vaping community we thought it was only right to help him out and help him continue to do the amazing service that he does. I'm not just here to try and make a few bucks.
