Original or Clone?

@Blossom said it.
i literally can't be arsed wasting my breath anymore. Nobody ever listens anyway.
i get noobs pming me asking for advice on what to buy, so I give them advice with different budgets in mind. But they take no notice anyway as buy a cheap clone.
the thing that really pisses me off is the people who say they can't afford to buy a real mod but have a shit load of clones, that added together would get them several good, real, high end articles.

right now I have 2 mods and 3 atties. They are very good and serve me well. I could have a shed load of clones for the money I paid but I don't need them. My mods and atties are built like tanks and will not rust. The threads are great, overall quality of build and materials used is spot on. And I have helped financially support people that have contributed to something I am passionate about. Not just Kenny wan with the factory and staff to produce a shit load and make a mint.

another thing you pay for with originals is service. I'm sure @Carlos will agree with me here. If you have any problems with your high end originals either the mod makers or vendors usually are more than happy to bend over backwards for you. They value you as a customer and treat you exactly as you wish to be treated.
there are several vendors and makers who I will always buy from and always use without thinking twice due to the excellent service received when called upon. These include Perseas at vapourart (gp), Grant (gvc -I know it's juice, but still!) and most of all stew @shmovapes the people listed as well as many others do what they do out of passion and not to make money, they strive to and take pride in making sure their customers get the best service possible.

...I didn't set out to write an essay. Ah well:P

...you can call me good news:P hahaha

Another point not much discussed is that clones, as well as iphones and levi's etc are manufactured by people working long hours with no rights for fuck all in Dickensian conditions including children (student interns) pressed from schools.

Clones can be quite expensive really :-/
that is actually a very good point and one that never really gets talked about. Tbh I'd never really thought of it that way, but in my defence I don't buy clones. Personally I've never felt the need for loads of mods anyway. The last hardware I bought was my roller and kfl from vapefest as I wanted to buy myself a nice treat. I will do the same this year too. I'd rather have one or two nice original mods than loads of choice. I'm the same with everything else though (I have 2 pairs of trainers, 2 pairs of walking boots and a pair of smart shoes for emergencies because it don't need anything else and can't be arsed with making too many choices in the morning!).

I can afford to buy the real mod and I own a shit loads of clones, why use your hard earned to make someone else rich from using a stock PIC from a Korean football teams logo and even worse another "high end" mod copying that design and adding a hexagonal nut (obviously breakthrough) and adding a lions head art work which was also stolen, which is even worse because it was registered
it's a tube made from stainless steel, get over it :D

ElsaBubs

totally agree, there is not one mod or Atty I own the mod maker will not answer a PM (well Dave T might take a day or so but he does reply) , Yes PM as these modders actually interact personally with there customer's on a daily basis on forums unlike a lot. that for me is a massive plus.

I can't wait until we get together in bolton mate :)

umm this is not a pit

lol ;)

no its not mate and TBH you would last 2 mins on there lol, this was my first forum and always will be, where I post most has nothing to do with it. my point was agreeing with Sam the mods and atties I owe I can personally interact with them whit.

I wouldn't want to be a member on their tbh, I'm not stupid paying for overpriced gear, I'm a bit more cleaver ;)

Personally I think that's why people buy clones . I think people like to have the latest mod as quick as they can because tomorrow there will be something new (world of vaping )

you are right! The beauty of the planet is that EVERYONE here is allowed to have their own opinions and has the right to express them free and without fear of being leapt in by the opposition. It's one of the things that makes me proud to be here. We are all vapers at the end of the day and that is the important thing for us all to remember :)

Ok... The OP

Probably an emotive subject this one, but as I expand into rebuildables I find myself torn between the two.

Do I save for the original?, or do I go for a clone?, which, by all accounts, is as good as the original.

Having invested in a couple of original tanks I'm skint, but have I just bought into a label? Or am I supporting a manufacturer

Would love to to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

While this is a very heated topic, MOST people on POTV will understand it is a personal choice and whatever you choose is YOUR choice and yours alone ;)

If you are skint, research the cheaper alternatives for the BEST ones available. If you are unwilling to take a risk, save for the original and be happy in your purchase. If you aren't you can always flog it off without too much of an issue.

I would also like to remind everyone not to attack anyone for their opinions as they are their own and they are entitled to them just as much as youre entitled to yours. Seeing as we allow talk of all things vaping, getting nasty about it is just silly. :)
