Have absolutely no intention of making a complex wire myself I certainly had no idea, never been into all those juggernaut coils etc. It is rather thin, but it should work similar to flat wire, and it works on steam engine. I’m going to keep trying, but in the worse case scenario, I’ll bin it and not cry over the £1.50 I paid for it. Have learned much more expensive lessons over the years

You could twist two strands if there isn't enough mass in the wire. I don't know how that would work in TC though lol.

Thanks mate, but I would never cook a ss wire over 700C And I’m not even sure you can get it that hot with a lighter. Never more than a low wattage orange glow to clean it and check if it’s firing in the middle of the coil, and this is no problem for ss316l

it does, lighters are filled with butane. it’s probably about 800 C at least. the noisy windproof ones will get even hotter.
