It ain't sounding good other than there seems to be no mention of concentrates. I wouldn't put much faith in another consultation as the last one found 51% opposed and 47% supported flavour restrictions which tells me they will do whatever they want. Legal action, protests and demonstrations may be all that's open to vapers and the industry.

The bottom line is you can still smoke yourself to death but you won't be able to give them up through vaping unless you like menthol, which they banned in cigarettes, and any other flavours they deem you are allowed that they think don't appeal to underage vapers.

but “the shortfill longfill loophole will be closed” is hysterical scaremongering. nothing has closed. they’ve not even done the consultation or had a debate about it yet never mind drafted legislation. nobody can be sure at this point how it will turn out.

The intention is clear at least, shortfills in a 10ml bottle, same as liquid with nic in it. in effect, banning shortfills and the like.

the speed, the papers that have been written by the government with there intentions are out the whole thing is up and running, they have planned for this for months I would guess at least 2 years

but before they do that they will implement at tax on pg and vg plus they will then add vat so your pg will go up from £4 for 500 mils to £25 for the same plus they could implement sale restrictions to what it’s used for similar things happened in Germany

12 months to sell it all off aint gonna cut it or enable businesses/ shop owners to settle their loans/ related debts and bills. Many folks will have long term leases on premises that they cant get out of, how are they even going to pay redundancy to workers, when all they've been given is notice that after a relatively short period of time their trade and businesses have been made illegal.

Vic's ire seems largely related to his dislike of the vape trade bodies like the IBVTA and UKVIA, he has a point, they're wankers.

aye but being in business entails risk. if you are talking about folk who’ve built their business primarily on a loophole of dubious legality, the risk is even greater. it’s not good, but it was always a possibility, and a risk, that i would hope they have factored in.

Unlike shortfills you can't vape longfills as they are concentrates, if they are included in flavour bans the only option left will be the black market.
