Third time of trying to vape and get rid of the smokes

It would be a step in the right direction for sure though like glen h suggests it might be worth going a step further for a bit of future proofing in you can stretch to it. If you think the 50W version would be too big for you the 30W version is the same size as the 20W but has a few features much improved for just a little more money. The board does step down voltage a little better but the best improvement is a sprung centre pin, the bit in the middle where your atty attaches, and better threads.

Wish I'd taken my own advice, would've saved myself a fortune, mind you, you cant have to many shinys

Too true. I've bought a load of gear but there isn't much of it that doesn't get used at some point. I'll never be stuck for a vape put it that way.

I'd reccomend an aerotank V2 as a starter tank. Great ease of use and nice throat hit. I used mine with a vision spinner battery and was happy with it. Youtube is your friend, there are video reviews of almost everything you can imagine on there and you can see if it is something you can get on with or if it is too fiddly for your taste.

I'd just say use the tank when you can but have a cigarette when you feel like you need one. I was on my tank for a lot of the day but had a couple of fags when I got up and when I went to bed. I got used to the tank and stopped using the fags naturally. For the first month I carried a tin of rollies round with me as a comfort blanket but slowly realised I wasn't having any. Had a mad urge for one the other day so had one but found I didn't enjoy it at all.

This should be fun as much as healthy and swapping from one to the other should be a natural progression more than a punishment. There aren't vape police wandering round to give you a beating if you smoke a cigarette now and again, it is up to you how fast or slow you swap over, and if you don't swap completely and still have the odd fag then don't think you have failed, think how well you are doing cutting down. No fags is best, but cutting down to a few a day is still an achievement that will have great health benefits.

Everyone on here has had the same experience of feeling overwhelmed with the amount of stuff available. There is no right way or wrong way, just go with what feels good to you. Think of the forum as a fun and sometimes very silly version of Alcohol Anonymous without the guilt or the god bothering. The members will give you lots of advice and the vendors are great at telling you what they sell and what might suit you rather than trying to sell you the most expensive stuff they can that you might never use.

Thanks for advice:) I have a day off and spent the entire day..(LOL) not doing anything really but investigating reviews on internet and youtube and have purchased an Istick 30 W and Melo atomizer. I can't wait for it to arrive :)

I did that too. I really like the reviews on youtube as almost all of them are good with the pros and cons.

Researching vape stuff was my first smoke free day, I was so engrossed in all the alternatives that I didn't realise I hadn't had a fag until about 11pm, sat at the computer with my ego. That was the point I decided to try and actually do a full switch.

The same seems to happen to me :) Been vaping my ego all day but it seems to have given up on me. I can hardly get a draw out of it, so am vaping an emergency king disposable e sig, tbh they are not so bad...erhm :P Can't wait to get my kit and do it properly !

I didn't like my first cig alike device, was much better when I bought a half decent setup, not had a real cigarette in 14 months.

Hi Nina71 well have only just seen this thread and I know Diche thought it might be helpful for you to get some feedback from someone else who hadn't found switching over so easy...

So point 1. Addictive personality... most of us here have 1 I think probably like you it isn't just the nicotine that is addictive in ciggies. .. for most people that is the primary addiction and once past the first few days or weeks they can do without the other stuff... not all of us can so easily. .. the other chemicals in combination with nicotine stimulate dopamine production amongst other things. .. whole TSNA (tobacco specific nitrosamine) juices can help with this but are rather expensive and only really available in the USA... can be shipped elsewhere but the cost is prohibitive. .. if really struggling may be worth it... or trying snus as well as vaping may work for you...

2. The more stress/pressure you put yourself under the easier it is to get stressed and go back to smoking full time (please don't) having a period of smoking as well is perfectly normal for those of us with either a heavier smoking habit or additional life stresses to deal with... cutting back can eventually lead to the goal of stopping although it's natural to be frustrated by it when for others it seems so much easier...

3. You have done really well so far, recognise that achievement even if you never gave up smoking fully. .. you will still be healthier overall than if you never tried vaping and never managed to fully give up... ok so the goal is to swap fully when possible but again excessive pressure will make it more difficult

4. Vaping is very different to smoking in terms of speed of nicotine delivery and how it all feels... accept that it isn't the same exactly but that it can replace the smoking as long as you can see this... allow more time for vaping than you think you need... twice as long as smoking at least to begin with. .. and allow for more regular usage throughout the day (especially if you can only cope with vaping 18mg) heavier usage than you need is unlikely as you will know when it is too much... headaches etc will warn you... (I have yet to experience that and I started on 36mg and still drip on subohms at 18mg) we are all different and 30 tailor mades a day is higher than 30 rollies...

5. Better kit is your friend. . But only if it is better kit for you... try a few things out if you can... local b and m's or vape meets are your friend here... I would say try something with more air flow... can imcrease nicotine absorption. .. also as vape is cooler may mean that you aren't coughing so stopping vaping too soon (personal experience here.. we are all different. . You may prefer tight airflow I am only going on what works best for me)

6. Relax and have fun... find flavours you enjoy.. you will crack it.. best of luck
