To flavour, or not to flavour................

I dont see much of a problem tbh, vaping is still about 500 times safer than smoking cigs,so if i buy a juice and it states diacyl free im all good.

I think I agree, it is really about harm reduction, if I wanted to be completely safe I would stop vaping, stop drinking alcohol, stop drinking caffeine and cut out all refined sugar. That would however remove most of the activities I enjoy in life so I don't think I will bother. As more research is done and flavourings are analysed with vaping specifically in mind the reputable producers will adjust their ingredients accordingly I will stick to good vendors and accept the level of risk vaping represents.

You could just get some menthol crystals from the chemist and use them to flavour your liquids by dissolving them in pg and using that as a concentrate.
I believe they are designed to be dissolved in hot water and you inhale the stream to clear your nose and ease your breathing when you have a cold.

This!!!
It's a reasonable assumption that any creamy/buttery flavour will contain diacetyl/AP. It's all about making an informed decision on the risk, for the last 12 year I have inhaled diacetyl in much higher concentration than that of vaping through smoking cigarettes. It's a risk I'm willing to take for a good custard liquid, not everyone will feel the same.

Email received from Liberty Flights:

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]Good afternoon Roger,

Thank you for your patience while we looked into this matter for you.

We have contacted Capella to get some more information for your enquiry and they have informed us that there have been many requests for the removal of Acetoin and Acetyl Prop from their flavours.
Because their flavours are being used by many different industries, this request does not apply to everyone, therefor they have said they are leaving their "Original" version and will release what they call the "Version 2, or V2" as it’s listed on their website.

Currently they have released the New Vanilla Custard - V2 and the New French Vanilla - V2.

They are going through each and every flavour and removing these compounds, the next batch being released will be on June 15 and will contain V2 versions of:
Boston Cream Pie
Chocolate Fudge Brownie
Peaches & Cream
Apple Pie
Raspberry

Keep in mind, even if the flavours contained these compounds, they are at trace levels (Very small levels) and are present in the raw flavour.
Once a customer dilutes to whatever use-level their recipe calls for (Some use very small amounts), it could be arguably undetected in the finished product.

We do not currently stock the V2 Capella flavours but this is something our production team are looking into.

We hope this helps and please do not hesitate to ask if you need any further information.

Kind regards

Sharon

At least they are doing something about the issue.

That sounds like an excellent response from a conscientious vendor. I haven't been vaping long but I have been seriously impressed by the professionalism and excellent customer service generally found in the industry.
