Is the uta positive 510 pin slotted screw supposed to turn so easily in situ? I've never seen that before on any rta I own.

I hadn't noticed it before but yes it does, on both of mine anyway. I've been using the first one daily for a while now and it's obviously not been a problem, wonder if the original does it too. Just had a wee play with it and fitted the thinnest o ring I could find around the insulator so it gets trapped between that and the base. Fitting the base back on it left a small gap around it until I tightened the two screws holding the base on which then squashed the o ring down and tightened the whole lot up. This stopped the 510 screw spinning and didn't cause any problem with shorts in the short term though I'd be worried if the pressure over a time might cause the disk to contact both the positive post screw and the negative, to be honest that worries me a little even without it. The negative post screw is recessed into the insulator but not completely.

Thanks for this, I was initially boggled so took the base apart, was thinking wtf to start with until I noticed the neg screw was somewhat recessed (but not enough in my opinion), I had a play around, moaned to my missus about it and just stuck it all back together. Some things you can mod and make better, other things there's nowt much to be done.

It's all up and running, lovely smooth vape, doesn't whistle half as much as my V1 clones. The drip tip is a tad loose fitting, can fix that with some dental floss. Really for the money this is a super rta.

The loose 510 pin bugged me at first, although it has never caused any problems with ohms jumping or anything.
I like to believe that this a deliberate design feature though, as it self adjusts when you screw the uta onto your mod.

As for the slightly loose drip tip, you can use any standard size one in this,
I got some nice PTFE ones from fast tech which are as cheap as chips and they are a super tight fit.

I've been using my uta exclusively for 2 weeks now and it's been totally trouble free, it vapes like a boss and never leaked a drop of juice.
I did have a tank crack in several places but that was my fault for using a tank*cracker*juice ( pineapple I think) doh!

The only issue Ive had with my two is that when you slide the collar over the wick slots, they aren't symmetrical...meaning that one side of the wick slots is more open than the other, whether you use the vertical or horizontal slots. Still seems to vape fine though!
Oh, and the magnets in the bases are weak lol.
Bloody good vape though!

That's what made me investigate further, I was getting fluctuating readings on my ohms meter. I think it's a bad design and I'm not dead keen on the screw itself being recessed in the 510 connector to the degree that it is. There is a spare steel screw that fits, I don't actually know what else that screw might be for.

Same as that, it looks be maybe 1 or 2 mm difference between the two slots, I used extra cotton to fill the larger gap, seems ok.

Yeah, it's a smooth vape, taifun style.

Got mine yesterday morning, straight into the ultrasonic.

Yum yum yum, cheers Jim!

Same problem with the one I have dry hit city :( on my first build. Can you tell if it's is the wick slot base or the collar that is the problem? I am thinking you could file it 1-2mm so it's actually symmetrical.

So the brass 510 screw is suppose to be like loose NI200 resistance all over the place :(

I did notice the wick slots are shorter one side than the other, its a 1:1 clone though. So i suspect the genuine is the same.

Edit: it is, check out this pic of the genuine, notice the size difference of the horizontal wick holes on the bottom of the pic compared to the top.

Cheers for post! bizarre I never knew that doesn't make a great deal of sense to me as one side of the coil would always get more juice using the vertical slot wicking method. Oh well if that's the way it is!

Touchdown!
Pantsdown!
Splashback!
Wipedown!

Looks great, Jim da man.
