I can't crack it. I'm currently running geekvape n80 Clapton on my asmodus Minikin V2, 0.7 ohm build at 48 watts. Flavour is really good. As soon as I switch over to the pulse. Really airy and no flavour. Batteries are fresh so I can't see it being a power issue. I've tried the following, geekvape wire as above, vaping outlaws rapture wire shots and geekvape as flat Clapton wire, I've tried both spaced and closed coil builds, 2.5 and 3mm I'd builds and still nothing close to running it as a dripper. Any thoughts?

Well, your 0.7 ohm clapton is only going to give you around 20 watts or so on a fully charged battery (when you account for battery sag) on a mech, so that could be the problem. All those other wires are complex wires too (long ramp up times) - have you tried simple round or flatwire? I'm using 24 gauge NI80 flatwire on my Hadaly on a mech and it is great.

your 0.7 build will only be getting about 25w on the pulse, to get the 48w you are used to you'll need a coil around 0.37 - 0.4 ohms. ... and obviously as your battery power depletes you'll get less.

Agree with the above a 0.7 clapton on a mech will be absolutely terrible especially on something as open as a Wasp. After experimenting for months I have found that around 0.4 is a sweet spot for a nice balance of flavour/vapor and battery life this is with plain Ni80 24AWG with clapton wire 0.3 is a better vape but hits the battery a bit harder.

Absolutely love my Pulse mod and paired with a Narca RDA its as close to vaping nirvana i've ever got :)

Fuck any kind of fancy coil on a single battery mech....

Parallel 24 gauge nichrome, 5 wraps, 2.5 ID = 0.12ohms

Check out @stealthvape for your wire....

pritty much whats been said above i'd keep your fancy coils for your regulated mods on a single battery mech simple seems to be best i like the ni80 as it heats up and cools down faster for me a 22awg ni80 5 wraps on a 3 ID comes out around .25 but thats what i like we are all different :2thumbsup:

I've returned to a 4 wrap ni80 coil. Came in at 0.24ohms all was well. I've stopped using the wasp due to crazy ohm fluctuations

I went back to a 4 wrap nichrome build coming out at 0.24ohms, flavour was great, then it went tits up.

Something is wrong with the RDA but I can't figure out what. I started to get burnt flavours after a day of good vapes. I checked the RDA on a regulated mod and the ohms kept increasing up to 2.2ohms. I switched out the squonk pin for a normal 5.10 and the same thing kept occuring.

The ohms then just read zero. If I turned of the mod, removed the RDA and started again I would get the original 0.24 then the craziness would start again

You need to check that your coil isn’t touching the posts, and that the post screws are fully tightened down. It sounds to me like you have a short somewhere

.2 to .3 is the range I like to be in using ×3 core 26g , 36g flat Clapton Ni80 wire by GeekVape
