Ares 2/II RTA Prototype

Just a quick update. My honeymoon period with this RTA is over. For the past week it has been tasting burnt/harsh and I can’t work out why.

I have tried both 26 and 28 gauge kanthal with either 5 or 6 wraps and only after numerous builds and trial and error will I get a good build. It’s been getting worse now to the point of me giving up.

I think it’s either shorting somewhere or not making contact with the wire. When it works it works great.

Anyone have any ideas why this may be happening or has experienced the same thing?

Re. The burning.... Same here. Just turn the wattage down a notch or 2 seems to sort that, for me.

Being honest, this is only me second MTL RTA, so I haven't much to compare it to. Gonna stick with the other, I reckon.

Now @Andy467 has mentioned it, what is that taste? Only occurs every so often. About every 10 drags or so. Glad it's not just me.

I keep getting it coiled and wicked up to give it another go, but it's not long before the Glaz Mini is out again.

Really not getting on with this bugger. It's sound for a while, then it just loses its flavour or tastes burnt. Proper shame.

Not sure what it is, mate. Wicking's fine. Someone else mentioned it on here. Just re-wicked and it's sound. I'll get the Glaz rebuilt when I get 10 minutes.
