Hi all,
I love my CE5 clearomiser and really want to keep using it. Sadly, the BVC Aspire coils are increasingly useless and becoming harder to get. My current purchased lot are lasting one day. I bought a Pockex to try, but it's not for me. Is there any hope that I can stay with my CE5 set up, or is there anything new but very very similar? TIA

Hi and welcome to the planet.

aspire coils should last way longer than a day so a few questions,
where are you buying the coils as there are a lot of fakes on ebay.
which coil is it your buying,1.8, 1.6, 0.7, 0.4
what juice and what ratio vg/pg are you using
answering these will help others advise further.

I use the 1.6 aspire bvc coils in a spryte and I was using them in a K2 tank as well (that's on loan to my sister currently).

Never had any issues with them at all, just received some from wholesalecoils too and the code checks out so I expect no probs there either.

I got a minimum of a fortnight from them in the K2 (I used it almost exclusively when I moved from DTL to MTL before I got some more appropriate rtas) using 50/50 juice.

If they're genuine they really should be fine as long as you're not expecting them to accept high VG.

I'm actually considering buying a CE5-S as it happens ;)

TBH this last lot were the worst , but I have bought them directly from Aspire and still had 4 duds out of 5. They used to be far more reliable with only the odd one or two duds. I'm buying 1.8 if I can, but sometimes have to buy 1.6. I buy 70/30 vg/pg golden virginia juice. Thanks for your reply :13:

Yeah, never had an issue with the little aspire bvc coils. As stated they shouldn't ever be used with juice thicker than 50%vg and with them being the same size as the artery pal 2 coils they're still widely available. Probably every vape shop in town stock's them.
Either fakes or using high vg liquid I reckon.

Apologies, didn't see the above. If that's accurate (70vg) then that is absolutely the issue. You'll be burning out perfectly good coils. Those coils were designed at a time when liquid was mainly pg based and 50%vg is as high as you could use with any expectations of reliability or even working.
For a mouth to lung tank I'd recommend using a far lower vg liquid but if your liquid is non negotiable then the answer is you'll have to change tank. The aspire nautilus 2s or even better the innokin zenith or zlide will cope (that said, only just) with 70%vg liquids.

yup, totally agree.
1.8, and 1.6 are 50/50 coils only and will crash and burn very quickly with 70vg
0.7 is perfect for 70vg but fixed wattage kits im not sure how they will handle as these coils need 18-23watts

Yes of course. With fixed wattage we may be dealing with an ego style battery which could become dangerous if utilizing a coil bellow 1ohm.
New kit all round for that liquid I'd say.
Good news is we can point the op in the direction of something similar in style or something budget friendly.
