I read the article, then I read the 20 comments posted about it,then I closed the page and came back here.
1)they've had 7 years plus to organise a study by their own hand-picked scientists
2)they have tried & failed to get the EU to formulate a knee-jerk law banning e-cigs
3)they snuck in new revised provisions to obtain an immediate ban & failed
4)courts across Europe are throwing out the hastily conceived regulations on TPD
5)our government are losing a hefty chunk of tax revenue as people cease using tobacco
This thought popped into my head several times recently, but then departed before I had chance to formulate a post revealing my mental state....
Lots of people are paying into private pension funds, and lots of financial business invest in tobacco products shares(our own council were mentioned concerning their pension funds were at risk during the banking crisis headlines)as these have always given good returns for the investment. Now consider what happens when tobacco products take a nose-dive in value(approx 8% drop was reported)All the governments money invested (not just in tobacco)in tobacco reduces its investment value, financial institutions who've been asked by investors to maximise returns find their stockholdings reduce in return, the shareholders lose money, and its entirely the fault of our electronic vapourisers.THIS is why no amount of research handed to these ANTZ is ever going to be accepted,as if they accept it,their comfy life on a pension isn't going to be comfy as they're actually going to find that "We're all in it together" is so true as to scare them to lying every second word they utter.
