So will everyone calm down a bit, vape a lot more and if anyone starts to get irate just go make a cuppa and avoid this thread for a bit

I agree we should ALL go, regardless. I just wont spend any pennies except with the vendors I know and trust anyways as I have always done. Last year though I didnt purchase a single vape related thing from Vapefest. And thats probably what will happen this year too.

Im going to see YOU lot. I could give a shit less about buying anything :) I want to see my friends!

What we need to do as a community is stand together and show our support of EFVI and use our heads to get the message across that we won't be quiet about EFVI just because they said so!

PS I am sure we can get the POTV One off shirts to have a big EFVI link on it!

Well I come back from a nice afternoon discovering pubs that allow vaping and a possible future vape meet venue, happy that my hotel is booked and VF is but a few months away...to discover this pile of twaddle.

1) EFVI IS important. It may or may not be significant at the end of the day but rest assured it will be LESS significant or indeed INSIGNIFICANT if it is not supported by enough vapers. It maybe that some will sit back and say the battle in the courts will be more important but why suggest EFVI is of no consequence?
2) I don't get the 'politics' aspect at all. Whatever colour of the political spectrum you reside, this affects ALL vapers
3) Neither do I think it will spoil any 'fun'. How so?

Ive said before that organising the VF is no mean feat and done by unpaid volunteers who deserve our gratitude rather than insults. On this occasion I do feel they have made an error.

Edit: and this is NOT about other forums so lets not get into all that shit please

If it does come to light that if EFVI paid then they can have a stall, I'd be happy to put my hand in my pocket, if not I'll happily contribute to stickers being printed or sponsor a few t-shirts for people to wear.

It's a view, for sure.

I'm just tired of letting things slide by... and surely it's not narrow-minded to decide not to attend on the grounds that the event should be INclusive and not EXclusive.

Some things are more important to me than spending money on shinies, having a beer in good company and a natter with like-minded folk. I do all of that already... but I'm not going to support an event that is making decisions on my behalf - as a vaper - that I disagree with.

It's a tiny, pointless, protest, for sure... but it really only affects me.

I have kept quiet about my opinion to all of this, simply as I do not want to drag PoTVs awesome name through the mud if I was to mention it. At the moment there looks like there is a bit of hope, and decisions might get overturned, and I really am hoping so, but hey I am ever the optimist :)

Now if it doesnt get overturned, then I the only thing for me that will change, is the apparel that I will be wearing.

My protest will not be to stay away, it will be to get in there, hand out leaflets, even some other stuff, that has been mentioned and a cracking idea, all in a peaceful manner of course. :)

It was never meant for picking at each other I thought it important that people knew what was happening
If people want to go for a piss up that's upto them I'd rather spend my time and money trying to save vaping fair play folks. No more crap slinging.

So long since I've visited y'all, I've forgotten how the site works! Nice to see people I've missed - hi Josef! - but so busy hopping from here to there. I'm so glad I posted re this on...thinks...was it EVUN?
The brown stuff hit the rotator so fast it made my head spin - shows the usefulness of social media though. I have a feeling that the outrage caused will force a rethink - my son who has a table booked
there was quite amazed by the insanity of it all - and he's not a political animal. I would have liked to go to help him out this year - his GF is at the Gower Show, which is the big event of her year - but,
like Josef, I find this whole thing so distasteful I really couldn't be dragged there. Liked your post Steff BTW - you should show up more often.

We have over 9000 members here and an average of 1000 active at any given time, we have the best forum in the country if not the world. The best is because we share very similar values, there is nothing stopping us from creating our own POTV Vapefest tailored to these great values we share. The top three values I believe we share are 1. Wisdom, 2. Info, 3. Friendliness. I believe what sets us apart from other people is that WE are not shortsighted and we are passionate about what we do.

#4 Shiny things from FT, we are all proud to have one of them :2thumbsup:

I know it's a bit of a hijack.
But if the EFVI gets the support it needs, there might never need to be a costly court battle. Which you might even lose, post 2016.

Well i hope they change their minds. The stance that 'well' rules are rules & that's that' is just defeatist ,either that or against the efvi.

What if the efvi want to meet other vapers & have a beer & a vape just like everyone else ? Saying no is discrimination regardless of who. If it's going to be a closed door affair for the big initiative then vapefest can take a jump, i'll just keep meeting you all here in cyberworld.

isn't it a bit like banning the pope from church ?
