EFVI not allowed at Vapefest 2014

There's a number of people on UKV that I'd happily be nasty to though! Bunch of fecking ostriches.

1 vendor has all ready publicly stated that they will back out ( a confirmed vapefest attending vendor ) and applaud them for standing up for whats right!

As a result, I am off there to buy some juice. Vendors like this should be respected and admired :)

Ladies and gentlemen,

The idea of Vapefest is one where groups of vapers can get together, have a good day out, get pissed, spend money on things and smile.

This is now at the stage where the entire event is about to be cancelled. The whole "you must be with us or you're against us" has no place at an event where everyone is already aware of EFVI.

If this carries on and the supposed boycotts happen (due in no small part to the hectoring some vendors have received by email and on their FB pages) then I will be a very sad bunny.

Wear a T-shirt, talk to people you meet about EFVI - but pushing someone (who has stumped up a lot of money to put it on) into a corner is only going to result in Vapefest 0000.

And all because of a table, or the non-existence of such. Is that what everyone here really wants? I don't believe for a second it is.

The 'boycott' threats have to stop. The abuse on vendor FB pages has to stop. Some of you need to have a really good fucking look at what you are doing and what you hope to achieve from it because (as I said in my only other post in this thread) the current mob mentality is going to achieve nothing more than to slice the community as a whole in two.

Trust me when I write this, because I know, Vapefest will be cancelled if this continues. We all lose.

I understand the approach that this is a good time event. There is no reason why that would change by having an open and obvious support for EFVI. It's not UKIP. It's not even UKVIP.
Whilst I don't agree with bullying ( if that is happening ) there should be no surprise that it is the refusal by the organisers to allow a specific EFVI table that is the divisive action and easily foreseeable. This isn't just a vape meet down your local. This is Vapefest. If the thing is cancelled, which I doubt, don't blame those who feel that the organisers have let them down.
Discussions are ongoing behind the scenes I believe and hopefully this can be resolved.

Or we get EVFI to organize the event...
Honestly, the whole thing blew up because of a "you are not allowed here" message and a lack of an official statement and reason. Valid reason.
I can understand that there may be legal reasons or insurance reasons for not being able to offer a booth. But an official statement explaining the situation and some support towards EVFI in other ways would have been good.

Mawsley, there are not many times I disagree with you, but sorry, this is one of them!

You really think that the abuse is coming from the EFVI?? Its coming from some 'misguided individuals' and no one would advocate that type of shite.

Itsmeitis, is an obnoxious and arrogant individual who has done both VF and the cause absolutely no favours whatsoever. What really is wrong with having EFVI there on a table, with people approaching them if they WANT to.

You really think it will get cancelled?? How will the vendor that supplied the deposit, get his money back??

Please dont also tell me that ALL members that will be there know are forum or twitter users, because I do not believe that for one minute.

You reap what you sow..........and itsmeitis is getting his karma, and when he is 'man' enough to admit he might of got it wrong, and his ego got in the way, then perhaps everyone can get back to enjoying the anticipation of this event.

How things change eh.....not three hours ago, did he give a damn, with posts like, people will come in their masses!

I see a bunch of angry vapers pissed off a non political life saving initiative (not a petition) is being prevented a space at Vapefest to help raise awareness. I see adults making an informed choice not to support something that excludes something that they feel is very important to every vaper in the EU. Thats not a boycott. I don't think we'll see any picket lines ether.

And if you are referring to the out burst on the Midlands Vaping facebook site by someone whos not a member of this forum, hes apologized for that publicly. Besides whoever is making any kind of threats of violence is an idiot. If anyone doesn't want to go to Vapefest dont :) no ones going to force anyone to attend :P

But no one on this forum is encouraging ANY kind of boycott, threats, acts of intimidation ect ect ect. And if they are, it needs to be brought to the POTV admin/mod teams attention. I personally dont give a shit whats happening on other forums or facebook, thats not POTV's concern (but shame on any of you that are behaving nastily!)

I think EVERYONE should go, just to be with their friends, regardless of the situation. I just wont be spending any money at Vapefest, just like I didn't last year :)

PS if they do cancel it, we'll just all do something else!
