EFVI not allowed at Vapefest 2014

I hate to say this, but, I'm with Mawsley on this one...
People will still be informed even if they don't have a stand.
Whether that is by us, or by the vendors, they WILL still be informed.
Yes, I do find the reasoning behind it a bit naff. But, I can also see where they are coming from.
This isn't just a festival about vaping, it's a chance to put names to faces, make new friends, and have a hell of a good laugh!
We will still fight our battle, but Vapefest is one day of the year... 1/365... If you think of it like that, that's a pretty small fraction.
Vendors will still be fighting even if they aren't 'meant' to, as will we!
But, at the end of the day, it's a decision made by the people organising it... We are the ones who're meant to go and have a good time.
So please, no matter what the result of this, can't we at least do that, and have a good time?

To be honest, it seems to me that the weight of public opinion has, in no small part, contributed to the renegotiations that are now being reported.
I would never condone bullying of individuals, private or commercial. I made a statement that I would not be inclined to go if this ban stood, and lots of others expressed similar feelings.
The decision was ludicrous and, if it's reversed, I think the mass opposition to it will have been the primary reason.

I dont think anyone is negating the fact we will ALL have a good time attending regardless. But some ( a lot of ) people feel very strongly about EFVI and to have the biggest event kind of shit on it? yeah well.

What harm will it do to allow them a table to sit at with a banner? Not any at all and its silly to think it would cause any kind of damage to the event's "fun factor"

Im still going regardless :) just opens my eyes up a little bit more to the people I want to avoid in the future :)

From what I hear they are finally talking but the earlier claims weren't true (a couple hours ago) ect.

Lets hope they can come to a compromise!

Vapefest is indeed just 1/365 of the year. It's also the biggest, most public, most attended vape meet of the year...some of those Vapers may be new, and will not have heard of EFVI. And the problem with having a small table for EFVI is? Of course VF is all the things you say it is but why exclude the chance of a small corner for the biggest and most important initiative designed to ensure such VFs in the future? Makes no sense to me.

I only say that, as I have seen a couple of people saying that they wont go if EFVI aren't there.
BUT, realistically, how many of the people at UKVF will be online? Will be on the forums? Or, have friends on the forums etc?
I'm willing to bet, that the vast majority will be.
Afterall, if it wasn't for forums, I wouldn't know about VF. And, realistically, the whole palava about EFVI has probably increased votes as it's gained it even more publicity.
Naturally, I want them to be there as I do believe it will be beneficial to the festival. But, I don't think people shouldn't go just because of this.
As I mentioned, people will still be informed if they have no idea. :)

I feel very strongly about it as well, if it wasn't for vaping, I'd still be smoking, and my heart and lung operation would have been useless. So naturally, I don't want that freedom taken away from me.

Yes - I'm not in favour of mud-slinging, as it can result in backing people into a corner and they can then refuse to shift on an issue out of stubbornness & desire not to lose face. Always good to leave people a dignified route out that gets you what you want.
However, the campaigning side if things is, to me, far too important and I won't support an event that won't support the issues we face.
So if EFVI isn't going, neither am I

I'm willing to bet there are a few hundred, maybe thousand of attendees who haven't signed (not voted...it's not an election or a party ) as well. If a table generates a few dozen then it's bloody worthwhile
