EFVI not allowed at Vapefest 2014

If I were a vendor I'd boycott - the EVFI are what could make the difference to me keeping my business or not. Vapefest with no vendors would be interesting..

there is absolutely no reasonable argument one could make as to why EFVI should not be represented at VF2014 they are a large part of the vaping community and are absolutely vital to vapings survival.

i wrote to vapefest email and asked if EFVI-UK could get a free table, as EFVI don't have money - so we/EFVI could talk about the initiative and to get signatures. BTW, its not about forcing ppl to sign… its about awareness that this opportunity exists….
The awnser was:

The committee feel EFVI is amply represented on the ukvapefest.com website.

As Vapefest is open to all regardless of political allegiance or whether a petition has been signed, the committee do not feel it appropriate to agree any such requests for the duration of the event.

Thanks

so that was a cold water in the face… i later asked for permission to hand leaflets out and get signatures. The awnser is no. There is a policy this year, no leaflets allowed for ANYONE, not jus EFVI. There will be a huge clean up if leaflets and paper is lying all over, and that is kind of understandable. BUT then I'm thinking… what if i just take a pc with me??
So what is it about, i don't really know. I get it, that a lot of ppl don't like politics…. ok…. well look the other way then. Isn't the most important thing….. getting awareness towards EFVI? Vapefest and other great things like…. eh… ecigs like we like them…. will be tucked in, wrapped in a carpet so to speck, with a big fat EU on it. And then it will be TO LATE.

don't get me wrong Guys I support the whole thing, but the thread gibla53 has put put has got what he wanted, they have been refused (allegedly) and now there is threads asking why. A little like telling tales out of school and dummy's out of prams . To me as He or She should of gone direct to the guys again instead of what we might have know public putting pressure on with this such thread
IE Ye its Jared I want to know why and so forth.

I don't really care there rules are if thats what they have said so be it IMO.

I think this would have happened eventually anyway, I know I for one would have expected them to be there and questioned why they weren't there when I got home again. The difference is, by that point the discussion would have been moot, VF14 would have been and gone. Atleast having this discussion now we could possibly change the minds of the decision makers or atleast make our point heard.

I was even thinking about attending - but not now.

In answer to your above question, I doubt you'll find the answer as from what I have read over the last 20 mins - VF2014 ( it appears ) is much bigger than the EVFI. - Lot's of heads in sand and fingers in ears over this.

Quite poignant that one post actually said that in VF2017 all we'll have left are CE4/5 devices. Certainly may seem the way.

Absolute shocking state of affairs :( - If I was a trader I'd pull out of it down to pure disgust. Trader are working bloody hard to build their business and on nearly every UK website the EVFI link is promoted

Talk about being kicked in the bollox

I hope they ( who have made this decision ) are happy.

How much does it cost to have a stall at VF? If we raised the funds so that VF can remain diplomatic within their political allegiance would it then be allowed?

whoever made the decision as you rightly say seems to have their head in the sand and just seem to want a piss up of a day with no reminder of how vaping is well and truly under threat
