Eliquid Bottle Rant

Anyone else really fed up with the basic design flaw inherent in the modern shortfill bottle of Eliquid? I’m talking here about the bottles with a flip lid for putting the nic shot in that are increasingly popular.

Every single one of them leaks when used to refill. The juice either pools on top of the shitty lid - which then leaks onto your tank/hand/clothes/table when you tip it up to refill or even more annoyingly finds a way to lodge in the screw top thereby leaking into your pocket/coat when carrying and when you take the top off.

I now carry a tissue at all times so that I can mop up the leaky mess before refilling. Ridiculous. Even that doesn’t solve the problem entirely as I discovered today when I found a small dribble of Eliquid in my coat pocket that had come via the crappy lid in transit. I now have the faint whiff of custard coming from my bloody coat…

Cheap, irritating and not fit for purpose.

In 2021 is it really too much to ask that you can buy an Eliquid in a bottle that stays dry until you want to fill?

The waste and environmental disaster arising from the TPD nic shot nonsense is a joke too.

The whole process is a major pain in the arse. It’s reaching the point where I’m deliberately not buying certain brands because their bottles are particularly crap, but none of them are very good. I’m seriously thinking of investing in better bottles and decanting the liquid into them. But then I think how much time to do I want to spend pissing about doing that, having to wash them, remember what juice is in which etc.

Rant over…!

I mtl so when using 10ml bottles I decant them into a bigger bottle, then peel the label of one of the empties and stick it on.
Easier for 10ml as the labels are usually doubled with instructions underneath the top peelable label.

Personally I don't mind flip lid bottles, its the ones with the removable nib that leak the most ive found

THIS, so much this!!!

I always have to remember to flip the bottle cap on a refill else that tiny amount of juice sitting in there spaffs out

Glad it’s not just me. The custard dribble today was the last straw…!

They are also absolutely shit and really annoying it’s true. Another bottle that fails in its basic remit: to store Eliquid

As far back as I could remember all the bottles have had some kind of flaw, even the glass pipette bottles (which I miss) still could be a bit leaky sometimes. Not as bad as shortfill bottles though which always seem to gather juice in the nib which then runs down onto the bottle.

Having a dense day. I don't get it. How do they leak exactly? Mine never seem to.

I’ve always assumed a small amount of liquid pools in the nib and which then drips onto the lid or, if the bottle is transported, runs into the screw top.
