Just ordered a bunch of Single Core Claptons (1.34 ohms). Will give them a go before buying SS wire. When you say make your normal coil I assume you mean number of wraps, gauge, etc.?

Yes I tried to make the resistance match what I was used to with kanthal and what I thought was a proper mtl vape at 1 ohm ish. But it didn't work, it was 9 or 10 wraps and was rubbish. Made my normal 5 or 6 wrap 2.5mm coil and it was perfect at 0.4 ohms, 14 watts.

Apparently SS coils may contain nickel, is that correct?
