So I'm going to order some more wire, generally I just use 28 gauge kanthal, but I've heard of a few different kinds of wire ,nicramore, flat ribbon and a few others could someone explain the differences is it just diameter or ramp up time,I don't have a temp controlled mec ,I got a new sigelli 150 watt and I'm interested in playing at higher watts.any time I go over 70 ,80 watts I find the vape to hot ,not sure if the wire I'm using is really suitable for vapeing at higher watts.I'm OK at coil builds using single strand or twisted I made a Clapton coil yesterday which looked OK till I inserted it in my dripper then by the time I'd finished it looked like a spring of an old pros mattress. So some practice there required.cheers lads.an lassies Stuart.

Each type of wire will have it's own uses, but everyone goes back to Kanthal for some stuff because it just does what it says on the tin.

If you're used to 28g, go for an array of thicker wire, 26g, 24g, and 22g, and you'll find that you have a much different experience with those before you have to worry about doing crazy builds with all manner of odd stuff.

That would be my advise anyway :)

The more detail in the coil, the more the coil itself holds juice!
And the more mass of a coil. The more watts it can take, and so vapour. Assuming good airflow and wicking.

Me, I'm always trying new builds. And most of my posts here are in the Coil Porn thread (in this section).
And I usualy comment about the coils I post. Saying imo how good i think it is, and what watts and what have you.

So I say have a look through the Coil Porn thread for lots of info on different builds.

My latest build!
It's nice at 80W, but can take more if I was to fully open up my airflow.

But I like this build more. Because it has more ribbon, and I like the taste from more ribbon :)
