Right, well I thought I'd try my first patina and share it as I go.
Went out today and brought some ammonia, found a spray bottle and added Himalayan pink salt until it stopped dissolving. Corked the ends of an smpl and made a fume box out of an old vitalite tub.

the mod is suspended on 2 screws going through the sides of the tub, kitchen roll on the bottom. Mod sprayed and then I added a bit more salt over the whole surface.

little over half an hour later it looks a bit darker, another quick spray with another sprinkling of salt.

is this going to be real time updates? ...... looking forward to the next installment. :D

Mine are on the way from china, so I'm looking forward to having a go myself. :)

I'm hoping it's going to be in fairly real time. I started it at just before 20:45 so we'll see how it pans out

@juggles. You did sand the mod first didn't you? and for more blue leave it for a day at least. also chucking some baking powder on with the salt helped with mine. Is it a brass mech it looks like it, finally you did remember to put kitchen roll or an old sock in the bottom of the container and give it a decent spray i hope

btw, I was looking at this the other night ..... may lead to some inspiration.... or not.

I saw this the other day as well, was looking for a deep red originally.

Not sanded, did attack it with a scourer though. Cheers for the baking soda tip (none in cupboard).
Yes I did put kitchen full in the bottom and soaked it (its in the pic).

Copper, blues salt ammonia. reds mustard.
brass mustard just acts more like a mask for the brass so only the edges of the mustard will turn to a darker black or green. balsamic vinegarette will green and black. , salt and baking powder blues but can turn more darker maybe when using the vinegarette and mustards .
did you know you can also use boiled eggs or elastic bands to patina. see these methods on youtube just search egg patina and elastic band patina.
with the copper mustard red don't rub it after washing off with cold water as it will remove the patina
