What's new

Really pleased I got over my snobbery and tried out some pods !

laphroaig is god’s nectar. i was thinking, you cannae drink that wi anchovies. but miby if they were dipped in flour and fried :)
Or lightly sautéed in an organic ghee, like a quality scallop.

I raise my Glencairn glass to you, and salute your excellent taste.

Ftr, Laphroaig is on offer at Sainbury's this week, £26/bottle. Cannae argue with that. 🥃 :14:

I do like pods I'm just fed up of buying pods or stock coils. So over time I've ended up with some out and about devices on clearance or pre-owned that are rebuildable.

Vinci X with wotofo SMRT coil, has a 5.5ml pod and uses a single 18650.
Pulse 0.5 with Atemporal RDTA boro tank with a 21700 battery
Stubby X-ray with Ponte mesh RDTA 8.5ml

Might get the LV Thelema RBA for a slender MTL pocket vape.

@ChrisLikesCoffee, well, you really gone and done it now with this thread...

I've gone and ordered a Cthulhu AIO Box Mod Kit in Tiffany Blue. Good size tank, and takes Nautilus coils with an adaptor. If I don't like it, I'm sure the Mrs will. ;)
You might want to grab some of these bud. The nautilus thing is clever but you need something to get the airflow right. https://www.velvetvape.com/Multipins

I agree about trying out the pods , I recently went on holiday and couldn't be arsed taking multiple tanks , batteries etc .I had a geekvape b60 aegis boost that I won in a comp on here ages ago and had never used and thought I'd give that a go.
To say I was impressed with it is a understatement, with the 0.2 coil the flavour blows my normal vapes away. The size and pocketability compared to my normal mod and tank is excellent as is coil life .
The only downsides are it's next to impossible to see how much juice is left in it and the battery life isn't great.
it's definitely made me look at pods in different light

I've had different mods throughout the years, but have always stuck with my baby beast tank as it's always worked fine and never leaked for me. However, the last few months I've had a nightmare with the Smok coils as they either won't screw into the tank, or it leaks all the time. So I randomly decided to pick up a Vaporesso Xros 4 from a local shop out of frustration (after buying disposables for a month) and I have to admit, I'm glad I did.

It's definitely more convenient when I'm out of the house as I no longer need to bring a backpack with me to put in the multiple batteries, a pack of coils (because I never know which coil will screw in until I need to change the coil) and a lot of kitchen roll ready for when the tank leaks.

My only issue with the device is the battery life, as I'm used to having multiple spare batteries with me at all times for my old device, so I never had to consider how much of my day is currently spent vaping. Whereas I currently am having to charge this device multiple times a day (5+ times) due to me currently being out of work. So I'll be picking up a second Xros 4 next week so I can have both on rotation, however I'll probably find one is more than enough when I start the new job at the start of August.

Even if your happy with your current device, I'd certainly recommend picking up an Xros 4 or similar device for when your out and about and want to save on pocket space.

I kinda like the Cthulu AIO, and I kinda don't.

Pros: Very ergonomic, nice feel in the hand, (even having to arch ya fingers on the back so's not to cover the vent), good flavour with the Nautilus attachment, (can't be arsed with builds anymore), pocket friendly, good range of bright colours, (I'm always losing my gunmetal mods...may be it's my failing eyesight...)

Cons: It eats batteries, (even Fogstar's super duper 18650's), and it drinks juice quicker than I consume single malts. If ya don't put it together correctly, it leaks worse than Thames Water.

Conclusion: Jury's still out, and I keep reverting back to my Steam Crave Hadron Mini and Jac Vapour Series B DNA 75W. Have been quite impressed with recent additions; a Kroma 217, and a Coolfire Z80.

get a luxe xr max. it has twice the battery capacity, 4 or 5 ml and you can change the coils so don’t have to throw the whole pod in the bin.
