the R naught of the delta variant with us now is classed properly as a R naught of 6 to 8

so today 48.5 thousand people tested positive and 64 deaths in a day from covid that’s not 48 thousand flu cases

In regards to flu and covid tests if the person in front is sick you test for both covid and flu if at the very least the test for covid is negative and they still coughing and barking before the other tests come back it’s obvious it’s flu

It’s not pin the tail on the donkey some mysterious new illness hence why we test

the same as X-rays, swabs, bloods are taken it’s standard diagnosis

Well not a conspiratorial single motive, but we know that many people are taking advantage of the situation and certain groups will benefits from different rules and regulations in place.. or not in place.

I don't think everyone has our best interests as a paramount concern, so in that regard it is an ulterior motive.

no, honestly i do think that is a bit conspiratorial. aye, the tories have been handing out contracts left and right to their mates for ppe, testing equipment etc but these are nhs contracts. the public buy face masks individually from private companies. the government it seems are clearly opposed to continued mandatory use of masks, so unless you believe that independent experts in the field are in league with superdrug, boots and h and m then i think there being an ulterior motive for scientists and experts to push for continued wearing of masks is a bit far fetched.

It's so political it's hard to see the wood from the trees and I don't trust them on this matter at all.

Biden got berated the other day for tweeting that the Delta variant was 'more deadly' ... which there isn't really any evidence for and could likely be less 'deadly' when you look at the figures for cases/deaths.

i don’t know about that, and i’m sure he probably was but again they are winging it. at that point in time even experts knew little about it. if you have a look on google you can see he announced a plan for reduced numbers on buses and underground trains and compulsory facemasks in may last year, though. i don’t think this current move on his part, or other local leaders, or the scottish or welsh governments for that matter, are political. it seems to me the simpler explanation is they prefer to follow the advice from the experts rather than the government, who have proven themselves repeatedly to be useless and corrupt. which seems fair enough. even the government are telling people to keep wearing the masks depending on which of them is speaking (zahawi the other day, for example).
