What restrictions were in place last week? No nightclubs........... What else is different from last week than today?
No masks and no social distancing in shops. There's already a noticeable difference in people's attitudes coming in to where I work.

We are ahead for sure, my kids (both in their 20's) were offered it weeks before it was 'announced'

We have an older than average population though, so at first it seemed that we were behind, it took about 4 weeks later than I was hoping for me to be offered my first... but once we got through all the oldies things sped up really fast. :)

No, 53% of the total population is about right. We are not even trying to vaccinate the entire population. Currently 88% of adults have one dose and nearly 69% of adults.

Ah yes, I guess I'm talking about % of adults too ....... I'm still not sure about vaccinating children, I'm just glad mine are old enough to make their own decision.

No it doesn't quite mean that... as @Crewella said, the 40% is made up of fully vaccinated, people who have only had a single vaccination and people who have only just had their vaccination.

Plus as we said earlier the majority of hospitalized are elderly, or folks with other complications, which unfortunately means even with 2 vaccines they are still a lot more vulnerable that everyone else, especially the young and healthy even without being vaccinated.

Coolio. Thanks for clarifying. I no doubt missed what was said earlier as I'm not really following the thread in-depth any more and am only reading the odd post here and there.

No worries... it really isn't that clear, I hope what I said is correct but it might not be. :D

Wouldn't worry mate, don't think much of anything is that clear anymore. I think I'm even starting to lose track of whether I'm coming or going. :30:

But anxiety, insomnia and depression are not side effects of a bloody virus. That is Molly coddling people to an extreme.

Wrong. A virus can very much affect mental health and sleep patterns: it’s nothing to do with Molly coddling, physical health and mental health are completely intertwined. Anxiety and depression can be utterly debilitating :)

In our place almost all customers are still wearing masks and social distancing so far, I’m not sure it’s going to last though :hmm:

clear as mud mate, I was listening to a couple of 'experts' going hammer and tongs on the radio today, I have no idea who was 'right' :)

Long covid has been a pretty general term that dismisses one thing, most of the symptoms of it are actually effects of pneumonia. Go and look it up , was a eye opener when I read up about it.

So long covid as a fear term is extremely misleading, the long covid symptoms generally will never be as bad as someone in hospital and that latter one is dropping all the time.

unfortunately i think you are misinformed about this.

My local area (Pop. 2.5M) had something like 7 new cases a day recently with 0 deaths. I've noticed that France has a huge increase in cases just lately which are most likely to reach us very soon. It's been nice to feel that we pretty much had this under control but I can't help feeling that a new wave of infections is about to hit us too as it travels through the continent [emoji26]

I've been watching it spread through Europe, thought of you - just starting to go up now. :(
