The drill bit method is a excellent easy way in getting your coils right, I myself found it difficult to get the rolled mesh down through the coil, instead I rolled the mesh around a thin welding rod, and then wrapped the coil around it, but everyone has there own preference.

even the drill bit method can result in a hotspot if the genny is knocked or whatever.

there isn't any sure fire method that will get rid of them 100% , just keep playing with it and adjusting it when it happens.

You are correct that was mentioned.

I have to say .. Ive never yet experienced the ohms change some ppl get ... it sometimes goes up a point as the coil gets encrusted .. but not for a few days

Never had it either but if you do it properly as described and shown in the thread then you will have no issues, even if you go bungee jumping
