SS vs NI dry burning differences

Does anyone know the reason why with dry burning SS (and then immediate washing with water), it doesn’t take long before the SS coils start disintegrating and eventually dropping black coils particles (definitely not just burnt juice gunk) onto your wicks. NI seems to be better if you like to dry burn regularly... is it just my observation, or can anyone else confirm this or even know the science behind this? I’m a sweet juicer so probabaly so of course must dry burn and then clean rebuildable coils a lot more than some others people, just to get rid of gunk off the coils so I guess this is more relevant to people who clean coils daily...

mmm, not sure, SS can handle very high temps before breaking down.... way above what we vape at as far as I know. it shouldn't be disintegrating that's for sure.

Not sure what to suggest other than dry burning at a much much lower power.

I’m wondering if it’s the dry burning or the shocking it under cold water straight after dry burn. I try not to kill them and tried variations of SS as I know grade can be different, but have tried home made, vandyvape, and coilology and same thing, maybe 5 dryburns it starts. So kept with NI even though a new ss coils does taste cleaner I guess is the way I can call it...

Doesn’t dry burning cause the metal to oxidise?
It does and quenching SS in cold water when it's glowing seems to make the coil go dull and they seem to get gunked up quicker as a result but I manage to clean SS coils with dry firing them but not letting them glow then brushing the shit off without using water and they end up like new [emoji6]

Yes, I never really do it after reading Farsalinos view about it. Why risk it when it’s not necessary?

maybe, is there a reason for shocking it under water?

I just turn my mod down to about 6 or 7w heat it gently until the crud goes flakey and brush it off.

You can finally live the dream of being a blacksmith. Glow it full power until you can feel yourself getting a tan and then dip in the water for a satisfying hissssss.
