I'd rather just use the adaptor, I tried raising the pin on a battery once and it ended up Fubar'd beyond all redemption!!!

Itaste is 510 and ego. Could be the centre pin needs raising with small screwdriver. I have same problem when try to use Protank. Raise centre pin though and fine

When using non-Innokin Clearommizer, it can happen that the center contact of the Clearomizer is too short, therefore not making the contact.
Pulling out the pin may work, but it could also pull out the connecting cable on the inside, therefore breaking the device.
Maybe see if you can somehow make the Clearomizers pin longer...
