Although i have been using TC for a few weeks now yesterday i tried it properly on my SX-Mini T Class which uses TCR which i haven't tried using before. I am using Nickel 200 and after a google i came across a TCR Value of 600, then after reading and trying to learn more i came across a TCR value of 620 which is supposed to be the correct Value. I set it to 600 and decided to ask on here. Question is, is there a big difference between 600 and 620 in terms of actual flavour, heat etc, and which value should i use.

Firstly, this may be a question best answered by @John R :D

But I’ll give it a try… All wire is different so there’s no absolutely correct number. The difference you mention is rather small, and so you may not even notice it. I don’t use nickel wire, but I do notice that I get a better vape when the tcr is close to correct. F ex John gave me the adjusted tcr for my Pulse Mini, and it now gives me the vape I expect in the temp range I expect it :2thumbsup:

There are tc users that have 3 different tcrs set up so they can find the one that’s best for the wire they’re using.

TCR confused me no end on a YiHi Chip, so I await The Maestro's response as well :) @John R

Here's a simple fact to keep in mind, none of these mods have temperature sensors built into them. What they do is have an algorithm in them that calibrates on the material selected. This assumes you're starting from a cold atomiser and the coil resistance changes as the coil is heated, which a mod detects and makes an approximation to what the temp might be, based on the material TCR.

No maestro's in this thread, just well schooled by experts who used to frequent these parts.

@John R ? So being the Luddite I am, I'm better off just using the Mod's Ni, SS316L etc settings as I can get just what I'm after with those anyway?

I used the term Maestro in an ironic way ;);)

Tubby was the original font of all knowledge, but is was a chap who's nick was @ed87 who guided me in experimenting and took the time to explain everything to me, which was most appreciated.

@ed87 built some cracking Mods too. I still miss him to this day.
