What's new

The Dreaded TPD begins, be aware !

Well, the OP was pointing out the obvious fact that buying nic shots would be ten times the price of buying "bulk" 72mg/ml nic as we do now. Also that he interpreted some site messages as indicating that stocks were in limitled supply.
The thread has moved on nicely to the legal questions ... is it only nic sold for vaping purposes that is covered by the TRPR and how can non-vaping companies presently selling nic for other purposes be policed?

We all know that there's a fair amount of ignorance involved in pulling together the TPD and the TRPR, it might well be that home mixers aren't on the MHRA's radar ... or if they are it's unlikely that we're the early priority for Trading Standards.

Hi scrumpox,
Thanks for that, you seem to understand exactly my original point.
Not that I haven't liked everyone else's posts.
Another funny one is, a week to the day of the first post the 2 litres of Darkstar has just been delivered ;-))))

Freezers up and down the land are stuffed with these brown bottles ... an unexpected consequence of this badly thought out legislation. Let's hope that everyone takes care of their stashes and we don't get a horror story arising in the press.
As for what happens next with nic supply, at least we've bought ourselves time to watch with interest and without pressure. We also know the price of our home brew for the next X years. :)

Or you may have shelled out a shit load of cash in the short term for no reason at all lol.

Well that's the point, no one really seems to know do they, time will tell. It may have been a master stroke on your part and everyone else who has stockpiled or an embarrassing expense :)

It'll only be embarrassing if the price drops below 3p/ml ... otherwise, I'm happy, it wasn't expensive. :)

Hi scrumpox,
Loved your post, it's relevant to to the original start of the thread, is informative, but puts some welcome humour in as well.
You seem pretty skilled at mixing opinions / idea's ;-) have you ever thought of mixing flavours ? I bet you would be good, and could expect a premium price.............LOL

Umm Nicotine isn't used as a pesticide anymore and hasn't been for a while hence it isn't available to Joe Public Mr Retired Gardener/Farmer on the open market as a pesticide, it's uses were widespread for weed killing etc but the effect on the environment (bees for instance) was finally deemed as too harmful and hence now not used nor available in your local garden centre/farm shop.

It is however available from some chemical distributors still i.e. Darrant as already mentioned in this thread but all you have to do is see the colour of their nicotine to realise that you wouldn't really want to use it for vaping, as far as I am aware you will indeed need a license of some description to still purchase it and that would be in bulk and not 100ml here and there.

There are more uses for nicotine than vaping it's used for all sorts of things like pesticides we are in to vaping other people well into having allotments etc will be well into making there own pesticides why should the TPD affect them answer it doesn't
I have an allotment, so what concentration do you mix to kill the bugs?
