UK Gov To Ban Disposables?

Yes, but I don't think that the MHRA test products themselves...

Full toxicology and emissions tests need to submitted to the MHRA per device, or per flavour/strength e-liquid, in order for them to be placed on the market.
In that case: would it be safe to assume that testing would have to be done by an independent and MHRA approved company? Can't imagine they would just let manufacturers submit their own in-house testing reports?

I don't know, that's why I was asking. I would assume (perhaps naively) that the whole point of MHRA testing and approval is to determine that devices are relatively safe to use? If some vapes are tested and found to contain chemical levels deemed to be unsafe would that indicate that they have not been tested or that the MHRA's testing and approval system is largely meaningless?

there’s a guidance document i found here

So I assume things like atties and mods don't require any approval by the MHRA but what about devices that contain e-liquid?

All kits require an ECID number (which means it's on the MHRA database).
The mods and tanks sold separately also have a different ECID number.

Wasn't there a load of used disposables collected somewhere that were tested and found to have substantially higher chemical levels than what is permitted? If so, then is it safe to presume that they were probably illegal vapes and not ones that have been tested and approved for the UK market by MHRA?

Probably you are correct, which is a worry in it's self because if they all become illegal...well no need for any testing.

in fact we don’t (or i don’t) even know if all the apparently legal ones actually are legal. does anybody go checking the mhra approved list before they buy a new type of disposable?

Im also wondering if they are deeming them illegal once they have tested them... so legal to start off with....then illegal....the articles are unclear to me on this...were they legal to buy in the first place before testing....maybe it's just me though
