yeah but..... smoking is the worst way to take nicotine, there's no benefit to smoking it.
yes, but we are talking about smoked tobacco here, not nicotine.
I agree of course, but there can be still therapeutic benefit to smoking tobacco.. it's just that it harms you as well...yeah but..... smoking is the worst way to take nicotine, there's no benefit to smoking it.
Thinking about it... I don't really think you can compare smoking to taking other drugs.
unless you compare injecting nicotine to injecting heroin.
In 2010, Bhutan was lauded globally for being the first country to ban tobacco sales and smoking in public places. The ban lasted for over a decade until the circumstances posed by the COVID-19 pandemic compelled policy makers to change course, legalising the sale of tobacco within the country.
Despite the existence of a robust legal and regulatory framework for tobacco control, smuggling and a black market for tobacco was rampant in Bhutan. Tobacco use in Bhutan has not decreased significantly, with a tobacco use prevalence of 24.8% and 23.9% as per the STEPS 2014 and 2019 respectively.
maybe i was exaggerating a bit for effect. but i found an easy read version of the study linked above, which includes this graph. and it turns out they did include tobacco.

it’s more harmful to the end user than amphetamines and just almost neck and neck with cocaine. so it’s definitely up there with the “class a” category. so maybe we can put this point to rest
