Understanding TC - Help

Where does it say that SS316 is 0.000092? - according to steam engine its 0.000880...
It's what's programmed into the Alien as the TCR for 316L. Unfortunately, adjusting it to the correct value doesn't help the vape, which is very poor.

This is because it's a Smok product - a brand of which as you can tell I have a less than stellar opinion, the Xcube poo was my only mod from them, it survived less than 20 minutes before being consigned to a shelf - and eventually the NW Meet raffle...

Also what have you tried on the alien coil wise for tc?
Dual coils of titanium, 316L and NiFe30. What I'm finding is that it ramps up to temp then drops off abruptly and dramatically, then slams back up to temp and what feels like beyond set temp, then falls away again, and this repeats endlessly. That would be ok if it wasn't about a second between phases. It makes for a very unsatisfying vape. I'm just using mine in wattage mode with a dripper until such times as they hopefully fix it with a firmware upgrade.

I'd have dumped this after 20 minutes if it weren't so lovely in other ways. I'm going to hold out for the next firmware upgrade to see if I can get a decent TC vape out of it, but it's hard to imagine how they fucked up its TC capabilities this badly.

Ok so maybe just use it in wattage mode and keep the coolfire for TC?
I am surprised that there hasn't been someone on here, or on the internet somewhere, that hasn't reprogrammed the firmware themselves. I saw on the smoktech website a download of their program and the alien firmware that a savvy computer programmer may be able to tweak?? Or maybe it was just for show!
Thank you again for sharing your wisdom.

Quick question, when I get it all setup for TC, how do I go about testing if the TC works and is accurate? I was thinking maybe a temp probe on the coil, but not sure if this will do as the temp probe is metal?

You cant accurately. Mods with Dna chips have a program called escribe which you can monitor performance in real time. You can do a cotton burn test (wick coil with no juice and dry burn at say 420f should leave no scorch mark if functioning well) but its not overly conclusive
