Vape Tax.. we all knew it was coming

Governments tax anything that people find pleasurable so I'm not surprised vaping will be nexted.
I would of thought a big majority of vapers that switched from smoking did it for health reasons so I would be surprised just because vaping gets taxed it will make capers go back to smoking.

Fags are set to hit an eye watering £16 a pack so yeah a duty on vaping won't send vapers back to smoking. The real issue is flavour bans.

Exactly. As you say restricting flavours or an outright ban leaving one or two choices will be the killer.

They had a go at banning homeless people from buying and pitching tents in London, I presume because it makes the problem visible

saw this on the news about the vaping tax. i knew this was coming. costs me a quid to vape a day! and i don't make them myself! really like strawberry milk shakes. been broke so i'm on 88 vape. is the ban happening? what would an e liquid cost? i pay a quid for was thinking it would be 4 quid after the tax. 88vape doesnt burn my coils! still cheaper then smoking! christ my chest was so bad when i smoked! i think we will find out tomorrow! this goverment is rubbish! closing avenues of pleasure! i like to have a log fire in the evening with my hubby watch netflix and vape! i think they will come after my logs next!

Vaping tax​

• Hunt confirms widely expected plans for a “vaping products levy” to be paid on imports by manufacturers, specifically on the liquid in vapes. It will be introduced in October 2026.
• The move is an attempt to discourage children from buying the products. It is expected to raise £500m by 2028/29. A one-off increase in tobacco duty is also announced.
