Will There Ever Be A Non-Leaking RBA?

I am fairly new to rebuilding but after watching watching YouTube tutorials I have done a build 2 times on my Aqua clone with good results-no leaks. Yesterday I got a authentic Russian in a trade. Same thing watched YouTube did my first build works great no leaks. I think the trick is to find a good build tutorial on YouTude and follow that as close as you can. Nest purchase will be some version of Kayfun

I think I've found the problem with the Taifun GT, the o-ring at the bottom of the centre pole has broken and come off, any idea where I can get one from, as there were no spares with the tank?

OK for me...

I am new to RBA's and have recently obtained a UD AGA-T7, a Fogger 4.1 and a cloned Kayfun Lite Plus v2

I have watched the tutorials on YouTube, and after a couple of practice runs to get a feel for making coils and how much wicking material I was going to need, I have successfully managed to coil and wick all three with no leaks. I have used the same type of coils for all of them, being 28 guage Kanthal microcoils on a 2.5mm diameter rod (I am aware that technically they need to be less than 2.5mm diameter to qualify as microcoils, so I will accept that they are more "microcoil style" :-) On the Fogger and the T7, I have dual coils running at 0.8 Ohms and on the Kayfun a 1.6 Ohm coil. All of them are wicked with cotton.

The thing I have found, is that the thickness and the placement of the wicks are critical and are different across all three of those RBA's. Insufficient wick. or wick in the wrong places and you will get flooding. Too much wick, or wick blocking the feed holes and you will get dry hits and/or burning. Also, for some tanks, there are methods of filling them that will stop some issues that people are having.

I would suggest that people should watch as many videos on YouTube as you can find, for you your particular RBA, and have a look at how other people successfully do it. Two of my favourite sites for coil buliding and RBA assembly are Rip Trippers and Todd's Reviews, but there are plenty of others. Watch them and watch them again and keep practicing. If I can do it on three different RBA's as a newbie to RBA's, I am sure you guys can. :)

I've got a KFL on the way, so I'll have a go with a proper genuine RBA and my Rayon should be here by then as well, so I'm hoping for some decent results.

The thing is that I just don't know why they're so dependent upon so many variables in order to get good results. I know I'm still a relative newcomer to RBA's, but have watched numerous videos and still can't get it exactly right and even clearo's are temperamental and often have leaking issues, even the Naturevape's for me, although they seem to be behaving themselves lately, any slight adjustment of the coil can muck that up.

On the other hand, RDA's seem to be the answer for me at the moment, just whack in the coil/coils, wick any old way and I get results.

If you really get stuck, bang a Nautilus or a Nautilus Mini on your mod and just enjoy your vaping. They are both really excellent and trouble free and there are a variety of aftermarket tank options for them if you don't like the glass. I have a range of Kanger Aerotanks of various types and I like them too, but the Nautilus models just leave them for dead in terms of performance and unless you are a sub-ohm'er produce as much vapour as you would ever want and have great flavour.

You'll find o-rings on ebay no problem as long as you can measure the size of your old one accurately. Make sure to get Nitrile ones and not rubber ones, so that they can take the heat. I have even found tiny, tiny o-rings on there to replace the ones that go on the fill screws that I keep bloody well losing.

I've never had an original RBA leak on me yet. If you set them up properly, they won't leak - simples.

Research, research, research that's all you gotta do.

I need an o ring for my fogger v4 fill screw.

Went down the sink and I couldn't retrieve so couldn't measure it :(

Don't suppose you know the size or have a link?

Cheers

Measured mine and it seems 5mm OD 3mm ID. Sure something roughly around this size should do the trick as they stretch!

Hope this helps!
