Aga T2 - Poor vaping

Hi All

So I got my first Genny style tank to play around with - The AGA T2 after seeing Pbusardo, Grimmgreen and Todd playing with it and I am running into alot of problems. I am running it on a Vamo V5, the AGA T2 has not been modified (and I have no plans to really) but here are my problems

I have tried .20 guage and 32 guage Kanthal in a multitude of wraps and managed to get 1.6 ohms with 10 wraps of .32 Kanthal. It glows great on a dry burn, even, quick and great overall.

I tried SS Mesh and it kept shorting, no matter how much i torched the sucker, so went back to Silica which worked ok but was minimal vapor.

I have tried Ekowool and Cotton ball wicks, and so far the cotton works the best without any shorts or hotspots, but the vapor production is completely substandard compared to my Protanks using cotton wicks and .20 Kanthal at 2.5 ohms

So my question is.

Without Drilling out a larger airhole
Without removing the negative pin
Without using SS mesh

How do I get this buggar to work properly??

the tank looks great on my Vamo but at the moment it performs like a CE5 and eats my 18350 Batteries like I do Pizza

Help much appreciated:anyone:

SS rope wick With a ekowool sleeve or cotton wrap, .20 kanthal, 3 or 4 normal wraps, should do t trick.

I drilled the top cap to 2mm, then i drilled the wick hole to 3mm. SS mesh is good if setup right. Use a bit less and roll around a pin so its a tube. I leave my wick quite tall too, about 5mm higher than the last wrap. It seems to keep the coil wet better. Minevapes wickedly now ;-)

Did you flame enough e-juice onto the mesh after rolling. Get a good layer of carbon on there, then try not to scratch it off when loading it.

Drill hole to 2mm
Flame mesh once rolled and will fit loosely in the wick hole
Flame wire, 7-8wraps on a small screwdriver that'll fit in the wick hole, .3 microcoil, Flame coil and pinch
Stroke mesh head onto cotton wool to pick up a very light coating of strands
Insert mesh into coil while turning
Mount onto T2
Enjoy ;)

Thanks Everyone

I'm trying to avoid drilling out the AGA because 1. I don't have the equipment to do it and 2. I'd probably buggar it up if I did lol

My SS Mesh had a decent layer of carbon on it and did wick well. My coil started at 2.5 ohms, wick went in . . . still 2.5 ohms . . . bit more juice on the wick . . . 2.0 ohms . . . fired it up, fizzled out a bit of vapour then ohms dropped to 1.2 ohms and my Vamo didn't like that

Took the SS Mesh out, back at 2.5 ohms, inserted a cotton wick, fired it up, still at 2.5 ohms working fine, poor vapour production even at higher watts.

I was going to try the SS Rope, but thought i'd likely have the same problem as SS Mesh, I think its because the wick hole is not insulated like the AGA T3 that i'm getting these problems with SS.

I did try using some cotton around the top of the SS Mesh to insulate the wick hole, but this just reduced wicking, but it did stop it shorting.

Would it work better on a mech mod, say like the K100?

Mawsley Afraid not, but thanks anyway. I might brave the dremmel drill when i'm ready to batter the AGA T2 with a sledgehammer in frustration

That actually sounds a good idea. It would have to be a tiny rope though wouldn't it? The wick hole is only like 3mm.

Is there any benefit of doing both ss rope and ekowool other than to insulate?

How do you get around it shorting on the wick hole?
