Am I doing it wrong?

Having fathomed my second juice mix, I am wondering if my approach is correct.
I smell some flavours and over a period of time I decide what may work, then I come up with a name, and if it makes me giggle then I go for it hence the stupid names.
So, should I be referencing some of the recipes available on here (or elsewhere on the net), and seeing what flavours generally go together or just be completely independent and in my silly ways?
I am veering towards the latter but that means my next juice (Codenamed: Dark Monkey Spunk) will end up going ahead when I get a flavour I need for it.

I mix my own and hardly follow a recipe or any kind of standard. Its mostly, In a bottle shake it up and vape!

See, I am playing with the steeping, and to be honest my first juice doesn't seem to be any different 3 weeks on. I suppose at least it's not gone sour or anything like that.

Some things can be pretty good to go on mix, some things will mellow and infuse and others will change character completely (for good or bad) during steeping. You'll also find that sometimes it is worth steeping individual flavours before you add others.

I mix a lot of fruit flavours together and find that they are really quite sharp unless I leave then for at least a few days. However when I do my artic menthol at 20% I can vape it straight away.

There have been a few times I have mixed flavours like cola and vanilla and its disgusting so I leave it a week or two and it mellows out nicely
