Hey guys. I've just got my first roll of flattened Ni80 in this mornings mail and I thought I'd whack a build together. Then I thought I would make a thread on here, my experience and your responses might help someone else.
I am by no means an expert but I've built a few coils.
It is a little bit more fiddly to wrap than round wire as it folds over on itself if you squeeze it too hard on the jig. I just used my fingers to wrap round the jig which worked fine.
I used 24AWG Ni80 Flattened Wire 0.68mm x 0.3mm from The Crazy Wire Co. (I believe this is the same as Brochrome from Stealth Vape).
I made 3mm diameter, 7 wrap spaced coils which came out at 0.44 Ohms each, 0.22 in dual coil build. The deck is a simple velocity on a Maze RDA V2.
The coils feel more resilient on the deck, more solid than round wire or claptons. The ramp up time when dry burning to test is quite quick. I barely adjusted the coils at all, they heated from the inside out perfectly with no hot spots or problems.
They look good and have a lovely blue colour after heating due to being Ni80. If someone was particular about symmetry I would recommend.
Now to get vaping!
Please feel free to comment if I have done something wrong or I could improve it.

This was pretty useful, as I want to build by coils for my rda and the rbta I’m about to buy. Thanks
