House of Lords Qs on Ecigs

Good points made in some respects but no attempt to solve the problem of over regulation... and a faulty premise in that it doesnt apply solely to cross europe trade but to domestic sales within the UK

@Mark thanks for that, I wouldn't of had the first idea where to look. Some positive stuff there, but, I suspect, like much of politics it seems to mainly be lots of noise and very little end result.

Sometimes the noise can be helpful, any semi-serious debate or public airing about vaping should do no harm but shame about Baroness Walmsley's idiotic references :-(

Was that the one about Unicorn Blood? If so yeah, not the best, but glad they are actually talking about it.

Am I right in thinking that any new laws need to be passed by the lords before they come into effect?

No, her assertion was that there are noxious substances in e-juice.

Traditionally no, recently (and shockingly to HoC) yes! This was just questions, TPD is in place but as I understand it, as a Directive it is down to each EU member state as to how to implement it. There is still plenty of time for changes to suit the UK. If they become Regulations in the UK it's easier to define their implications. This is partly why the UK is allowing a full year to get everyone in line as it were. The EU vote may have an impact.

@bijou Oops, should have seen that!

harmful, poisonous, or very unpleasant.
Compared to smoking? Really Barroness? Or did she see someone chucking a cloud and thought "that looks unpleasant"? Or worse, she actually believes some of the BS spouted by the anti-vape brigade.
